so how do i counter a nid army that likes to move up to withing range of my guys with psychic scream and then shoot each of my squads and watch them try to pass a ld test at -4 or -5 cause no matter what happens the nid player is happy if you fail you run and if you pass you run towards them which isnt always a good move against nids to say the least so can anyone help me with my problem?

Well, if you are running a BT list setup the way I'd set them up...you should have 45-60 marines running across the board.

Add in that taking the S5 upgrade makes you more viable against all Tyranids except no-upgrade Hormagaunts; and well you should welcome the chance to run forward.

Put your main troop squads around a command squad with a banner bearer, and all of a sudden passing your tests won't seem so difficult.

Don't forget your purity seals, so you can always get out of 'escort' range or move the minimum fallback; then rally and move up. Also gives you maximum fall forward distance.

6 squads of 10 with meltagun/PF and seals is pretty cheap, just 165. Run 6 of them. Nobody will like it, it's really hard to hide from.

Toss in 3 tri-lascannon Preds with POTM and all of a sudden the Tyranid players gonna whine about the gouda.

You can always add flexibility with 1 less squad, and add in a land speeder and a bike squad with meltaguns. Whatever you wanna do, the BT are very flexible because of the Vows. I know I was surprised at how fast my Carnifexes went down to 2 S5 attacks per marine coming at me.

9 Lascannon shots firing repeatedly also sucks, Tyranids have a terrible time knocking POTM preds out quickly.

maybe it would be a good idea to use grimaldus giving any unit within 6" fearless and control of there RZ move

Looks good, I like the ideas that Stelek made.
I have not faced Nids in 2 years. Pity though they were my favorite targets.

I use a mech force myself. Nids hate seeing landraider crusaders with large squads or termies inside them.

Another option is to use the 80 point landspeeders with HB/AC. Oh about 6 in squads of 2 tend to make a mess of things. Focus fire and you would have fewer worries.

Why not just take the Abhor the witch upgrade making you immune to minor psychic powers such as the power in question
