for my orcs and goblins blossoming army, i would like some advice on what to get next. seeing as i dont have a alot of money to burn, i try to be economical with my purchases! this is what i have right now:

Black Orc Big Boss- Best Basha, 'Eavy Armor, Shield

Goblin Shaman- Lvl 2

Black Orcs- 10x FC with shields

Orc Boys- 20x FC with extra choppas

Night Goblins- 30x with music and Strd, 2x fanatics

Spider Riders- 7x, music

Total- 800


I would like to expand to about 1000 and I'm looking at another 10 black orcs cause just the ten are not enough, another unit of 20 boyz, a chariot, a spear chukka, or another black orc boss/bsb. so what to get now?

I would drop the black orcs, they are expensive for small games.

I would add units in this order.
2x5 wolf riders
2 bolt throwers
2 units of 25 orcs
2 bolt throwers
1 unit of gobbos
2 units of wolf riders
I have no idea what that would come out to but in that order it is a prety good set of buys.

After that, I like squig hoppers. 7 or so of em
Then get a couple savage orc cav units (prevent frenzy baiting through cunning use of wolf riders)

well im not sure about the wolf riders becuase what advantage do they offer over spider riders?

an extra 4 inches of movement.
Unless you play in really heavy terrain the wolfs are generally better.

I disagree with Cypher's premise that the spiders are only good if you play with "really heavy terrain". A normal board will have SOME difficult terrain on it (most commonly woods), and opponents will often use that terrain to their advantage for protecting shooters, warmachines, or skirmishing units. Spider riders can be excellent counters to these things. I wouldn't suggest that you use spiders exclusively, as the movement value of the wolf riders does really help, but using both is probably the optimal choice.

what about a unit of 10 wolves and 10 spiders? both with champ and musician i think. then i have a rank in both plus they wont get shot to bits

3 units of five fast calvary is enough in a 2000 point game, so i don't think adding more will help. i would add a unit of squig herders, about 15 with 10 herders. that unit is immune to psych, and hit hard. they can cover a flank for you and the enemy cant ignore them as they will keep advancing. then i would add in 2 chariots to support your fast calvary.

When I'm in power, here's how I'm gonna put the country back on its feet. I'm going to put sterilizing agents in the following products: Sunny Delight, Mountain Dew, and Thick-Crust Pizza. Only the 'tardiest of the 'tards like the thick crust.

sorry i missed the joke. also i would add a goblin grenade ( goblin boss on a wolf with brimstone bauble +wallopa's 1 hit wonder) use him to kill the enemy generals, or large juicy targets.

One problem i see with only 3 units of fast cav is you are talking about goblins...

They panic first chance they get. Give them backup, its cheep.

Also, fast cav dont get ranks so 100 is a real waste.

Im not sure about squig herders. They have the same weakness that elves complained about for years. They loose if they don't get the charge. But when they do...ooo boy are they good.
I prefer hoppers but that is more of a preference thing.
If you want ranks too, throw orcs at them as well.

But most importantally, you need more basic orcs and goblins. 3 blocks minimum (between the two).

this splits off the wolf riders and drops the spiders, puts the shaman (at level 1) into the goblin unit to add ld and give his protection, and adds in another 10 orcs to boost the ranks in the orc units.

basically i have 1 big ranked unit, a pair of solid blocks and a nice, soild killy unit. i was planning on using the wolf riders to hunt artillery and give flank charges, same with chariot. chukkas kill stuff.

Drop the wolf champs, they arent really needed and are to expensive.

Dont join the boar guy to the wolf units. Put him in the second orc block (add some combat power and prevent the orcs from getting crushed by charging guys). You can still charge out of it if you need.

Other than that its just a question of using your fanatics/ wolfs right and your army is great.

Depending on your environment I might be tempted to drop a fanatic and up your shaman to lvl 2. Don't know how much magic defense you face normally. Generally he can throw two spells a turn and one will get past 3 DD.
