Ha! In Orlando? Right off the strip? Possibly. But then you'd be sleeping with cockroaches...lol...or better yet paying money for taxi service or renting a car. Hotel rates are crazy in these parts.

Excellent.
I had a great time the last two years running, though the restaurants near the Caribe Royale are pathetic, the hotel itself and the rooms are quite nice.

For a 2 room suite you are looking at paying close to $80 a night per person or couple (if you want to bring the fam or something). Looks good , the only issue would be the extreme heat at that time of year. Though with Vegas last year I think I can deal with it.

That's because O-town likes to tax the crap out of tourists. Come see Disney, pay for our over crowded interstate!

We do have the finest Air Conditioning though. So heat isn't a problem.

I have yet to be able to attend (and I live in Orlando!) but every year they have improved, and the rumors around our local players about the effort being put into this years makes the event really exciting. I can't recommend it enough.

Current Armies: Blood Angels, Imperial Guard (40k), Skorne, Retribution (Warmachine), Vampire Counts (Fantasy)

Only issue for me is that it is Father's Day weekend. I was eyeing the Necro as my potential get away this year. From everything I've heard sounds like it will be a good time. With all the AdeptiCon grief I get at home from the wife .. I doubt I could pull that weekend off with out returning my stuff on the lawn and a court order.

I've already attempted the let's take the 3 boys to Disney bit .. but she saw through that transparent ploy.

You sir have failed at life. Nah Im just busting your balls. Too bad though because the Necro usually has some tough competition and it would have been cool for you to come so we can fraking RAGE!

Comparing tournament records is another form of e-peen measuring.

Hi guys

Yep, the stars have aligned in the most portentous of states! That means that The Necro, Baltimore Games Day, and Hallmark's "Father's Day" are all on the same weekend.

We see this as being a temporary glitch. Next year we hope to have Baltimore Games Day as the last weekend in June and possibly The Necro slipping back into it's comfortable July spot.

The only reason I'm disappointed that The Necro is on the same weekend as the Baltimore Games Day is that I won't be able to play at The Necro. I visited the guys last year to hang out and get a feel for the event (its first year on our GW circuit) and I had a great time. Cool terrain, cool armies, cool gamers, everything you could want in a full weekend of competitive gaming. Apart from the 3:30 - 4 pm scheduled downpour, you won't even notice the humidity.

Baltimore Games Day is a different "offer" altogether, apart from the obvious passion for toy soldiers displayed at both events.

As for Father's Day, I thought that was when the father got to choose what they did for the weekend. Perhaps my family is a little bit different ; )

Anyway, there's a lot you can get up to at either event. Choose wisely!

Cheers

That's it: I'm finding a waterproof mini case and buying a plane ticket. See you all there!

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

Fortunately the real rainy part of Florida's rainy season isn't until July. It may rain, but not quite like it does in July.
