A friend and I were dicussing the new squig-bombs in the Ork codex. The issue that came up was I had a squad of jetbikes next to a grav tank and he didn't know which should hit or could hit.

Here's the question: Can a squig-bomb be shot at jetbikes or for that matter marine bikers, or can it only be shot at vehicles with an armor value, ie. tanks, skimmers, dreads.

I fear no man, just the toaster.

Vehicles have an Armor Value and a Type (for example, Walker, or Tank).

Jetbikes and Bikes are not classified as vehicles within the 40k rules.

So would that also mean that it can't be shot at wraithlords or carnifexes since these are considered monstrous creatures.

Correct- don't bring your bomb-squigs to a Tyranid party.

I'd like to say pre-emptively that they should not work against artillery either; despite the guns having an armour profile, they are not classified as vehicles. However, according to the rules the squigs are happy enough to "chase down" deliberately immobile vehicles such as Forgeworld gun installations and drop-pods.

Bunkers? I have no idea.

When attacked directly, bunkers count as an immoble vehicle (193, BGB).

Vehicle is a defined unit type in the core rules, there is a short decription on page 10 but the best place is on page 58, any model covered by the rules in the chapter that starts on page 58 are to be considered vehicles and thus potential targets for bomb squigs.

Bikes be they jetbikes or wheeled ones are not vehicles and thus squigs will not target them, nor will they target monstrous creatures such as wraithlords or carnifexes, moreover they will travel in a straight line ignoring all terrain and or units in their path on their way to their target vehicle. thus they can never be screened, blocked or whatnot, the releasing ork doent even have to have a LOS to the vehicle.

The squigs are a bit of a bother actually, an amusing model but it functions in so may ways outside the normal rules of the game that Im sure it will cause alot of discussions in battles.

Just as a note, you probably shouldn't bump up 2 year old threads. This'll probably get locked.
