To finish my Underhive table, I realized months ago I'd need good rubble. So I've been saving up my sprues, plasticard cuttings, and other detritus in the hope that I could find a cheap old meat grinder. Unfortunately, I've been searching for months and have not found one. I don't want to buy a new one (if I spent good money on a nice one, I'd prefer to make some awesome homemade sausage with it - thank you, Charcuterie - and my wife would not take kindly to using a kitchen utensil for modeling purposes) and was hoping someone had a suggestion for making rubble out of all my junk that had somewhat the same result.....

We just take a clippers to the sprue and go nuts. Then you can chop em up sand em a bit. Not as quick as a meat grinder im with you if i had a meatgrinder id be making sausage or hiding bodies or some crap.

Or? Pff. And here I thought you were Khornate...

As for rubble, the clipper/hobby knife route is more than likely the way to go, sans grinder. Just make sure to include random larger bits. The one downside I see in the grinder approach is the clean uniform size of bits. Great for basing sand, not so great to represent the crumbled remains of that bunker that just took a mortar round. Varying the size of your rubble will give it a more realistic look. On the other side of the coin though, you can't go too large without rubble suddenly looking like very recognizable lengths of sprue...

Dremel witha cutting wheel would work..Or, if you don't want to "spend" the $. Buy one at walmart. Grind up your rubble and then return the thing when you're done.

I, on the other hand, do NOT suggest breaking the law.

Here are a couple links to meat grinders on ebay.
One is Meat Grinders in general. the other is limited to "Buy it Now" options.

You can get a used one, shipped, for $16. That's not a very pricey investment, really.
Plus, when you're done, you can sell it on bartertown and recoup all or most of your purchase price!

Or simply dont toy with the idea of cutting up sprues and buy some irregular gravel (small stone chips) ,because if im honest the meat grinder idea GW went with is ok but rubble tends not to look anything like chopped up sprues as a rule anyway. People have been modeling WWII diorammas for years without resorting to grinding up greay GW sprues .......
