This year it will be for Warhammer Fantasy and it will be 3500 points (thats a lot of skaven).

It will kick off on April 19th, and will finish in Chicago Gamesday July 25-26.

wow thats cool. I don have 3500 skaven though. I could probably do like 2500 if I push it. Funny you mention skaven cause thats my only fantasy army. Since Im ever working on my IG and now redoing my orks that means ill finish my last 25 block of skaven around....never.

I think that Dwarfs are looking REALLY good at 3500...

I don't play Fantasy much, but I'm curious: are games at 3500 more balanced because every army can bring it's power, or is it going to descend into madness with a few armies really able to bring the pain?

At 3500 points, it's just a way to sell models.

The 500+ model armies really open up at this level.

I wish all the people playing in this tournament with another hero, special, rare, and a couple core added to their regular army....yeah, good luck.

I like a nice large game of Fantasy/40k and all but 3500 seems ...absurd. I don't even want to think about how many models that would be in fantasy ...much less painting them all.

Would 3500 even work on the usual 6x4 tables that I see in most stores? It seems like at that points value there would be pretty severly reduced room to maneuver .

Oh boy, if there's no restrictions, the pointsize sure allows some broken armies. I'm looking at you Karl Franz, riding a dragon with his popemobile,knights,5 cannons and 3 steamtanks entourage.

(Altough it certainly need not be this way, the 3,5k level makes some fun games possible. Hopefully the round timetable allows this too as you don't want to squeeze this kind of game in 3 hours.)

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. How many Bretonnians KOTR could I get, I wonder? Answer - 104, with 1000 points left for a nasty lord character on a Pegasus and some Errants.

Actually - how big an RAF army could you put together at this level?

Heck, how many Men at Arms could you have? Answer - 500 for 2500 points.

Or 416 archers. That's a lot of longbow shots.
