I've just been on the GW store website and its not possible to buy individual components now! :S I was looking for Necromunda gangers and they don't even have the alternate models for sale now only the boxed gang. Whats going on with GW lately!?

They've done away with bitz ordering and are enacting a new system for ordering things. I'm told more things will be added as time goes on, but we're in a transitionary period right now.

I find their whole policy as being garbage.

In the last month I went from preparing a $500 bit order for razorback sprues, Predator turrets and sponsons, etc.

Now I have to find alternate sources, as I will not buy the whole vehicles.

Very frustrating

I just discovered that the metal shoulder pads are nowhere to be seen.

This has put my entire project on hold. Water transfers are the nut low.

I can only hope they bring them back.

Metal Shoulder Pads are just about all they DO sell at the moment in their bitz packs.

Otherwise, yes, it's going to suck for awhile. If you want those sponson and turret sprues, and you have the money right now, you can still phone in a bitz order until the 12th or 13th. I phoned in my last bitz order yesterday.

Do you think they will still have the devastator, 3rd different tactical shoulders?

I'm calling the Glen Burnie, Maryland store, correct?

I'll give you some info. GW has over 18,000 Bitz parts right now. They are consolidating down to alot fewer codes. Why? First off, GW is getting rid of the bitz that are not selling. They are also streamlining things to make filling orders faster and more accurate. In the past, if you wanted Space Marine Chaplain Charlie, or Commissar Bob, and he was made up of 10 codes, you'd have to call them with all 10 codes, or wait while someone typed them all in. Now, there will be one code for the whole model. Also, all the parts will be bagged together, so that will cut down on mistakes, and make filling the order faster. It will also save on warehouse space and inventory. They are also getting rid of random models, so you won't call up and order 10 Spearmen and be getting all 10 of the same.

GW will be eliminating redundant models, such as the metal elf spearmen, since there are current plastic models. And yes, for now, individual parts and sprues will be gone. As time goes on, GW will be adding to the bitz pack line with appropriate packs....by that I mean GW hopes to have packs with the shoulder pads and related army bitz ( like the imperial fist one with the pads and backpacks) as well as packs that cover army options, like multiple assault weapons, etc. I cannot confirm what packs GW will have though, at this time.

I guess the big question that needs to be answered is...why? Well, alot of the older models would be gone anyway, due to the molds wearing out and the masters no longer around or in a good enough condition to make a new mold. Being able to fill orders more accurately and quickly for customers is a win win situation...you get your stuff faster, and neither GW or you has to go to all the hassle of fixing mistakes.

Yes, this does mean single parts are going away. It does mean if you want 3 Iron Warriors helmets you may have to buy 10. Its one of those situations where GW has had to look at it from a business point of view, balancing costs and savings vs profit. The bitz service as it was brought in only a small amount of the overall business. By becoming more efficient hopefully many customers will be alot happier. It is unfortunate that GW can't please everyone. Just give them time, and constructive criticism, such as what types of bitz packs you think it would be good to have.

Bitz orders will be filled until the 12th of February.

I did my GW bits order today. Got all metal shoulders for my Ultramarines.

No bitz is bad enough, but now I can't even buy a warpriest. Oh GW, why have you done me so!

I was sad that I couldn't get a Landraider Crusader off the online store last night. It isn't even listed.

I hope my FLGS has one, or better still, that Neal has a few in stock.

Personally, if GW US wasn't putting the screws to bitz sellers online, I wouldn't really mind if they went to bitz packs. I like the idea of being able to buy decent sized lots of stuff, especially if it is stuff like "Marine Special Weapons" or "Big Bag O' Boobs!", but not if it is mutually exclusive with getting individual peices I want.

I suggest calling the 1-800 number, ask about what bitz packs are coming out, and then suggesting some that you have come up with that are reasonable and logical. One I have suggested was the Honour Guard Bitz pack, which uses the Baal Predator shoulder pads and some bitz from elsewhere, so you can kit up an Honour Guard with all its options, or use 2 of them to make a Veteran Assault Squad.
