Had a game Last weekend and the following Points came up.

1. Leadbelchers: Can they mach move and Shoot! I said no becuse the main rule for moving and shooting does not alow this, however it does say there is no movement penalty under discription and they do not use a BS just Arty Dice?. Just need a confirmation that main rule book trumps Army Book.

2. Does Oger impact hits remove Models from the front Rank so they can notattack back, they are not chariote style impact hits so I just need confirmation, We played it as no but are not sure.

3. If I charge a Unit in the flank that is half way over a wall(L Shaped Wall), can I just charge the models that are visable (Front Rank) over the wall (No Wall Bonous) or do I have to align to get the most number of models in contact, Needing 6's to hit remaining ranks behind wall. I just charged Front Rank in flank but still not sure.

Any Advise would be helpful, Thanks

1. They may not march and shoot. The movement penalty is the -1 to hit.
2. They do remove models from the fighting ranks. I'm not sure what 'chariot style' impact hits are, but all impact hits remove models from the fighting rank.
3. You always must endevour to get as many models from both sides fighting as your movement will allow. However, the defended obstacle rules are very vague, and I don't think you'd differentiate between the models behind the wall vs. the whole unit being behind the wall. It's something I'd discuss before the game.

Just to add to Mauleed:

1. Leadbelchers do roll to hit, the art dice just determines the number of shots per belcher. They may move 6" and fire, but ignore the usual -1 to hit penalty for moving and firing.

2. You might be confused by the line in chariot impact hits that says impact hits are "distributed as shooting." This refers mostly to how characters in the unit are hit if there are 5 or less rank and file models in the unit - i.e. 6 chariot hits are rolled up, against 5 spearmen + 1 hero. Roll 6 dice and any 6 will hit the hero, the rest hit spearmen. But otherwise the wounds caused deplete the front rank and count for combat res as noted.

3. I'm not sure about that myself, but I agree with Maule that it's likely an all-or-none situation that you should discuss with your opponent. I would opt to give the whole defending unit the benefit if majority is behind the obstacle.

I agree with the preceding, but BossSalvage's example for #2 is wrong. If there are at least 5 regular rank and file models, a hero in the unit CANNOT be hit by attacks which are destributed as shooting. 6 impact hits would only be distributed against the RnF guys. If there are fewer than 5 RnF, the hero can be hit. See the shooting rules for the details.

Really? My bad then, I couldn't recall without reference. I remember 5 RnF being involved somehow, and I was sure that if a die had 6 sides that would leave 1 side to smack the hero.

Apologies for that one

Now if the 5 spearmen included a champ, then you're put one hit on each model, as the champ doesn't count as RnF for purposes of shooting.

As the hits are distributed as shooting hits they simply fall from the standard rank and file guys. They cannot hit the champ unless the controlling player wishes his champ to die.

As said they hit characters as per the shooting rules.

...and not even then. The only way the champ can die to shooting is if there are more hits than guys in the unit and the ones assigned to him kill him, just like a character.
