Not entirely sure if this is the right forum for this, but I have to ask: Is there any other way to get hold shield drones other than buying a bunch of Commander Shadowsuns? As far as I can tell the GW site doesn't sell these separately.

Glue the plastic shield units from Crisis Suits onto the bottom of a Gun Drone top.

I did as Aduro suggests, it works rather nicely in my opinion. You just need to be careful when drilling the hole for the flying stand.

I did similar, only I glued the shield generatoe to the top of the drone, its then clearly visable.

so long as it's visually different from a gun drone, you can do pretty much anything. Sticking something Tau-ish under a gun drone top (or on top of it, as sleazy suggests) is the simplest and cheapest option. I've even seen people using two gun drone tops glued together sort of like a burger.

Consider doing something different with the aerials too, again to give a different look.
