i am planning to start a marine army with a crusading knight theme to it and was wondering if anyone could reccomend any shields that could fit on the marines and be in proportion and also if GW still do individual shield sprues or would it be easier to green stuff them myself?
cheers

You'd probably be better off making them yourself. It depends though on how big you want the shield to be? The size of a Terminators Storm Shield? Something larger or smaller? If it's smaller than you can use pretty much any Fantasy line shield you like. Bigger though you may need to build your own.

The big peasant tower shields from the Bretonnians look pretty good on marines.

There was a set of Fantasy ones that were used pretty frequently by BT players, but I can't remember whether they were Chaos shields with the iconography filed off or if they were Empire shields. The Bret knight shields are a bit too Elfy to use for Marines, but yeah, the peasant tower shields might work.

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack |
