I'm just returning to Fantasy, and even though I decided to run with Ogre Kingdoms, I've ended up with a Battle For Skull Pass set. I just couldn't turn down that many models.

Any thoughts on the point values and composition of those forces ?

Would it be worth it to pick up another BFSP just to have two back up armies?

I'm not crazy enough about the shorties to pick up the army books if I wasn't going to play them at some point, but if the contents of the set is a decent core force I'll probably do it.

Depending on how you kit the characters out, each side in the BFSP is about 500-600pts.

pash, you can have a fairly decent dwarf army of about 1000 points for two box sets. just pick up the book and maybe some extra stuff like ironbreakers pr slayers and you got a good force.

SM- Lets roll to see who goes first
Nob- Urgh...ok, I got a 6
SM- Oops, looks like I got an 8, so I go first
Nob- You got a 8 on a 6 sided die?
SM- Um, yep.
Nob- Space marines.....

Thanks for the information.

I don't know how seriously I'd play Dwarfs of Gobbos, but it would be worth the minimal investment to have the extra starter armies.

Looks like I'll probably pick up another BFSP just to make it to the 1000pt mark.

Thank you again for your help

my friend wanted to start dwarves and i told him that the BFSP set was a great buy, considering i bought the gobbos from him to use as gnoblars in my OK army.

he added a box of quarrlelers (16) to the existing dwarf models and hit 1000 points easy.

That 1K list isn't pretty good. Your friend has bumped too many points on characters. I would say that 2BFSP's and organ gun gives you a pretty good dwarf force. I have 3 of 'em !

And remember that organ gun is MUST on every dwarf army which do really want to win

well he is just learning. the BFSP is a steal for the 25 he got it for, after i bought the gobbos for 20. he wuill be using the quarrlelers/thunderers in his normal dwarf army so this army will help him learn the basics and figure ourt what he really wants to go with.

Just find a friend who wants to start gobbos, you both get a template kit and a rulebook, and you both get a 1000 pnt army

Da' orks were made ta fight 'n' win!

The BFSP forces seem good enough to teach with, but bad enough that you want to upgrade as fast as posssible.
