So someone asked me what happened to my DA DW army.

I told them I was thinking about it.

I saw the Lysander Wing question, and thought about it some more.

I couldn't decide if I wanted more weapons, any assault cannons, or just more terminators...but I decided, so here's the list.

Note the most important thing is, there'll be no deep striking with this list.

Why no assault cannons? Well, assault cannons don't reliably kill vehicles. Missile Launchers do, IMO.

There's little you can do against land raiders, so don't try unless they get too close to you....which they will at some point, because you'll be walking to those objectives and securing them against most armies.

There are 4 anti-tank terminator units (with Cyclones).

These should have one (just 1) Thunder Hammer and Storm Shield, primary purpose being MC and tank busting.

The 3 anti-infantry units should just have storm bolters. It's alot of effective anti-infantry fire, keep it that way.

The apothecary unit is an elite so players feel compelled to try and kill it for KPs. It's all about being devious, ain't it.

The whole point of this list?

You've gotta kill 30 terminators to stop me from having scoring units in 5th.

That isn't easy, the lists that can do it easily can't hang too well with most balanced lists.

Everyone knows the DW is fearless, right?

Remember, just place all the terminators...don't use the DW rules!

Which of your 7 squads is being taken as an elites choice?

The advent of Run is gonna make this list a little more viable, but I can't say I agree with the setup.

A Land Raider (or LRC) is gonna be used much more often in 5th Edition as it's gonna be very hard to kill for most armies, and both versions have the firepower to deal with your terminators (standard pattern through forcing invuln saves, LRC through masses of shots forcing lots of saves, with some invuln mixed in)

It seems to me like you're wasting some of your damage potential by going with 3 naked squads, and you are definitely gonna get hurt in close combat against Orks, Genestealers, Harlequins, Banshees, and anything with lots of bodies and hidden fists.

I don't think 10 storm bolter shots from one squad make up for the rending ability of the assault cannon, even after it gets changed, so I'd probably fit them into the list personally.

Any army with a lot of speed (and that includes pretty much every melee focused army in the game) will dance around terrain and your units, greatly limiting the effectiveness of your squads, and you absolutely lack the counterassault punch that a few guys with lightning claws sprinkled in your squads can give you (I generally put 1 guy with lightning claws in each squad).

Belials DW squad is.

Hidden PF don't scare me.

Lots of bodies is relative, if you are a foot slogging horde the mass of stormbolters is going to hurt you.

The asscannon removal is so you don't fire the anti-infantry squads at anything but infantry. If you do, you'll often be dead.

I didn't include any LC because any player can add them to any squad for free.

They aren't much of a punch, either. I've never had a problem killing entire squads of LC with my armies, primary reason being termies are S L O W.

Every LC reduces your turn 1-3 shooting and might increase your CC casaulties by a similar number.

It's all about taste and playstyle. You can drop a termie squad to get extra weapons, but are more asscannons worth 5 terminators? In my opinion, no.
