So I recently got the Ghazgull box set, and I'm kinda tempted to convert it. But since money is tight and I won't be coming upon another one for a little while, I'm thinking maybe I should keep it as Ghazgull. So my question is how useful is he in game? Is he really such an asset to an army that it should be a no brainer to field him over some other kind of warboss?

Based on his unique abilities, he appears to be more useful in a footslogging army and I think people typically use him as such. If that is they type of army you play, I would keep him. However, I don't see any reason why he couldn't be useful in a KOS army. If you are able to maneuvre your trukks to all hit at the same time, the 6" Waaugh role extends your assault range to 26 -27"!!! 12-13 for trukk movement, 2" disembarkment, 6" waagh, 6" assault.

The interesting decision would be where to put Gazkull.. with other MAN or just a unit of trukkboyz so as not to put all of your eggs in one basket.

If you have the opportunity, it would be interesting to play test.

Haven't played him with the new dex yet, but I have written some lists with him in mind. IMO, the best way to use him is to take advantage of his special waagh by having a load of infantry units that can use it. Knowing that you will have a 6 roll for the Waagh is pretty powerful. You just have to make sure that you use both rounds of that 2+ invuln save well.

For his high points he's not really a no brainer, but I think he could be a good choice.

I've been thinking about adding him back in to see if my trukk squads can be even more bullshyte and get off second turn charges with him from safe hiding places in midfield.
