So I was looking at the eldar codex and got to thinking if the nidz have Nidzilla. why not Eldar (Elzilla or Darzilla) so what I was toying with was having the MC's move forward and have the infrantry hide behind ready for a counter attack..heres my list

Wraith swords useless as maybe one of the WLs will live to use it moving at the rate they do. Get a second HW instead (BL so you don't have to muck around with fusion gun stormies).

I would rather have the Farseer be Eldrad than have 10 Storm Guardians.

Ditto that from tegeus-Cromis about Eldrad. Drop an Avenger for the spare points if you must.

He's also right about the stormies. In fact, even if you expand above 1000 points, leave the Stormies out. They're useless. They're even less useful with fusion guns- they're CC troops, and will do best (well, better t least) with flamers. Especially with BS3.

Other than that, I think it's a great list for 1000. It will be hard to sink that many T8 MCs before they reach one's lines.

I must disagree with t-C about the Wraithlord weapons, but only because of the low points situation. Yes, BLs are way better than swords (well, most anything is). Unfortunately, finding the points to pay for even one or two Brightlances would force swapping out the Dire Avengers for something like Guardians or 3-elf jetbike squads. Alternately, you could have one less Wraithlord, which sort of defeats the purpose. Given that the Avatar and Eldrad both have an 18" effective range anti-tank weapon (spear or melta plus 6" move), I'd say not having those brightlances won't sink a 1000-point game. If you find it doing so, consider going for Guardians with shuricannon. The Avengers are really nice anti-troop, though.

I guess at least buying shuricannons instead of the swords is a good idea. That's 9 more S6 shots at 24". That would balance out nicely against scrapping one unit of Avengers into a jetbike unit in order to buy at least one Brightlance. I wouldn't scrap out both Avenger units, though. Doing so with both Avenger units would reduce both your anti-infantry fire and the (potentially fearless) CC support for your MCs. That support will be important against Ork hordes (specifically the PK nobs, who eat MCs for breakfast), even after they've taken two turns of thinning from your shots. On that note as well, I would equip the Wraithlords with all flamers for wrist weapons. 6 flamers will help if you can get close enough to use them. And having Eldrad take out a PK nob or three from otherwise-untouched mobs will raise your Wraith's survival chances as well.

Even if he can't afford BLs, any heavy weapon, even shuricannons, will perform better than the sword IMO.

I'll be interested to know how well Eldrad does in a small game.

I take the swords....Not only do I like the look on the model, but I find that rerolls come in handy.

I view the re-roll as being like an extra attack.

I take Wraithlords Sword/ Starcannon or else ML/ BL. And almost always ML/ BL.

But if I had three in 1000 I would take swords, as I said, since they will almost certainly be in combat. They really help you make sure you're going to get that wound in that could force a morale check.

In 1000 I would probably take Sword/ ML on each. They have flamers too, for anti-infantry.

How are the WLs almost certain to be in combat? Just because the other guy may not have the firepower to down 3 WLs at 1k points doesn't mean they suddenly move faster than 6" a turn. Also consider the fact that by the same token of the game being smaller, having (let's say) three turns of shooting three extra heavy weapons makes a huuuge difference.

I lost but it was against an IA Guard and with only strength 6 shots escalation not getting a 2nd wraithlord till turn 4 or getting my Avatar at all it went pretty so next time ill just take 2 with the single ML and the other with ML and wraithsword

Ouch. Escalation. Sounds like there was nothing you could do there. Really, I wouldn't change my list based on this experience. It shows nothing (other than the problems of fielding 3 WL armies, and I don't think you want to change that).

I second t-C. Don't change the list- develop tactics to deal with lag in Escalation, and keep working with this one for a few more games. You have a really good concept, but it takes at least 5 games to get familiar with a list, and more than a dozen to start getting good with it.

And Escalation won't be a problem after this summer, if the current rumors about 5th ed. are true.

Those are all good points. You can't go wrong with twin heavies on a WL.

Oh, and Tacobake: yes, it is like having an extra attack, but having a second heavy literally is having extra attacks, extra attacks you can start using, from a distance, way earlier on.

Plus they convince your opponent to come gitcha, rather than standing off and missile-launchering you to death.

Aristotle, forgot to ask- what list did you use in that Escalation game? Were the Stormies still in it? Did you take Eldrad?

Uhm. What would you be doing about tanks, then? Or, say, a Land Raider?

I just think at least one BL is a very, very good idea. you're already pretty well-covered for anti-infantry fire. Maybe switch one or two of the WLs back to sword and BL? It would even be worth losing one or both of the Exarch extra catapults to do so.

I was going to say what do you have agianst Landraider's... with the amount of DW , and some DHand Chaos armies out there its pretty viable threat. They rely on 1k lists not having much to harm a LR.

Well that's what I used and I paided dearly for it, It was staring me in the face but I didn't even think about it.
