Where'd all the NH gamers go??? I live on the Seacoast, I know there used to be a few players in the area. I also played several games at Dakka, years ago. I'll need a re-fresher on the rules, as I haven't played in a while, but I've been getting my army back together. Hoping to get a game in soon!!!

In the seacoast area your best bet is Elite Hobbies in Dover. They have active leagues and tournaments, though I haven’t been there in several years. I did play against two of their regulars at the Boston Massacre team tournament last month, and they were really nice.
They have a website and forum here: http://elitehobbiesonline.com/

I've been looking into the leagues and such around The Game Castle, but at the moment I'm not entirely sure on how active they really get. Just browsing through the Elite Hobbies website a bit it looks like they really have a very active group of gamers out there.

I've actually just jumped back into the hobby along with my brother (previous poster). I'm still living in nashua and am looking to get back into both 40k and fantasy. Especially since I looked into the new version of my vampire counts. I also talked to brad about a month or two ago about a tournament he was in. Though I can't remember where he was playing it at.

Depending on where you are in NH, there are a few options out there.
Unfortunately the stores with gaming space in Nashua and Manchester have closed, but the Game Castle in Londonderry is still going (under a recent change of management, but with most of the same folks), Collectibles Unlimited in Concord has some gaming and small tournaments, and we have a group of folks in Manchester who get together every Tuesday night at the function room of Café 324 on Commercial Street. That’s where almost all of us old Dakka store players are nowadays, though most of the group has switched to Warmachine and Hordes.
Other than Elite Hobbies out in the seacoast area, The Game Castle is the most active/biggest place to play in the Southern half of NH. They have 10 or so permanent tables, and space for even more when they run tournaments. I’ve been playing in their current 40k league for a couple of weeks, and there are usually 6-12 people there every Tuesday night playing, painting, and hanging out. Saturdays are pretty busy too, I understand, though I work then.
If you’re in Nashua, you’re also not far at all from Danger Planet in Waltham, MA. They’re a fantastic store, with a very strong and active WH Fantasy league run by the Lost Legion club, and a pretty solid player base for 40k too. They have some really outstanding terrain and tables, and a really good stock of gaming stuff. Well worth the drive for regular gaming if you’re as close as Nashua, and well worth the drive for tournaments and special events from just about anywhere. I had suggested a while back that Brad get hooked up with the Lost Legion for their league, and I know he played in the last one.

Hello,
I'm from the Bristol area, but work in Concord. I'm a big fan of the fluff, but a newb to playing 40K. I 've been looking for people/places to play in NH. I found a place in Lebanon called Triple play that seems to play regulary( www.TripleplayNH.com ), anyone played there? Also I here some hobby shop in Concord plays? Anyways i'd really like to play 40k, but have been having a hard time finding players.

Triple Play from what I've heard is the best and most active store in the Northern part of the state. I've never personally been, but I've met a couple of guys who played up there, and played with one, and they seemed to be pretty good, experienced gamers.
Collectibles Unlimited in Concord is a GREAT gaming and comic store, though a bit on the small side. It has excellent stock & selection and a great owner. All it lacks is permanent tables to really push it over the top. That said, he does have temp ones which he puts up for regular tournaments.
I'd definitely recommend checking both out.

I'd go with Triple Play, unfortunately I just moved from New Hampshire to OH, but I can say that Triple Play Rocks! The guys there are really friendly and it's not hard to find someone to game with.
Most people there play 40k, fantasy and I know that Warmachine and Hordes was gaining in popularity and Anima tactics too!
So yeah, check out Triple play!
Thanks,
Chappy P!

Game Castle in Londonderry, NH is trying hard to start up a Warhammer league, doing a decent job. They just hosted a 'Ardboys Tournament, and league finals are May 17th. At minimum they appear to have everything for WFB in stock.
Danger Planet in Waltham, MA has a good group too I recommend. They're having a Legendary battle on May 10th. Their league is in the Fall.
I play both places.
I've also played at 3 Troll Games in Chelmsford, MA, but they appear to only play 500 pt games. Not a bad size group, about 12 or so, good for introductory teaching of the rules.

I go to college in Manchester, NH during the fall/Winter/early Spring period at the NH Institute of Art and have been wanting to get into the Fantasy aspect of Warhammer. The closest ones to me is the one in Londonderry or even Nashua. The place right down the road from me closed last semester which sucked cuz it was HUGE. Lots of Flames of War. Anyways. Massachusetts/NH FTW!

I've been to 3 Trolls before. Nice store. Lots of Warhammer gear. I was actually seriously considering applying there for a job if there was an opening. D:

Well Zamboni I know you already know about Elite Hobbies in Dover, NH, but I just wanted to throw in a shameless plug. Since I have moved to the seacoast region for school (UNH - FTW!) I have had the oppertunity to see and help the organized gaming community at Elite Hobbies grow. My girlfriend and I (the two BM Gamers Mannahnin mentioned) just finished running a 40k league which had 25 players join and over 100 games played during the 3 months that it ran. We have also run a smattering of tournaments, albeit not huge ones due to space issues, and plan on doing more in the future. While my gilfriend and I have generally been the ones running events the past few years a formalized gaming club has recently been formed known as the Garrison City Gamers which will hopefully begin running events year round and not just when school is in session. For anyone interested in having a place to play 40k or Fantasy there are always people down at the shop friday night, though you may have to get there early to snag a table. For more info about the shop, events, or to schedual a game check out the elite hobbies forums and webpage.
http://www.elitehobbiesonline.com
I also want to put in a shameless plug for Collectibles Unlimited in Concord, NH. Mike runs a great shop and provides the same great service which Deb offered for so many years when she owned the shop. While I wish he would put in some permenant gaming tables he does have a number of temporary tables which are put out for small tournaments which are hosted about once a month for both 40k and Fantasy. If you are looking for a place to play in small friendly tournaments this is one of the best places. For more info check out their website (currently being re-done but it still hosts the event schedual).
http://www.collectiblesunlimited.biz/
Finally I would like to say that both Triple Play in Lebanon, NH and The Toy Soldier in Amesbury, MA are great stores to play at as well. I had to opertunity to play in the first round of the 'Ard Boys tournaments at these locations and was impressed by both of the stores. While both aren't close enough to be my FLGS I would never mind stopping in and playing a game if I was in the area.
Well that's my take on NH gaming as far as I've experianced it. Since Dakka closed down I have had to look elsewhere for my gaming needs and unfortunatly Nashua was a bit far for me to drive so I cannot comment on the stores there. I know that due to a number of factors a number of stores have been shutting down recently, so if there are some of you looking for places to play I hope I have helped. And who knows maybe I'll see some of you around at the local tournaments or the Fantasy 'Ard Boys semi finals in a couple of weeks.
