Something I noticed about the army profiles section. It's just
a part of the wiki structure right? So does that mean people
can just edit other people's profiles? I know that would be
a no-no and probably lead to bannings and the like, but I
wondered if there was a way to lock those to user edits.

Yes, it is possible to lock them down.

But again, it is really, really easy to track and remove edits, and users who do such things will be punished and it is insanely easy to revert back to the way it was before they messed with it.

I really wouldn't let it worry you in the least.

I'll echo yakface... to undo bad wiki changes is a simple button press, and mods can roll back every single edit a user does with one click too, so abuse should not be too much of a problem. We can lock topics to the original poster, but unless a topic is being abused or is a home page (like the main articles page) then there is no point as having unlocked articles allows people to correct spelling, grammar and formatting even if they cant add anything to an article.

Nice.

Also, maybe I just glanced over the tutorials, but I totally
misread how to apply images to the wiki. I assumed (ok
maybe I didn't completely read the tutorials) that the photo
dump would be linkable and so redid my uploads.

I think it's because I know just enough to get myself into
trouble.

Dont beat yourself up over it, that was the biggest problem in testing as well. The images are just not that logical until you have used them at least once. It is a symptom of the structure of a wiki but it does have some advantages too.
