Playing a friendly tournament (amongst friends) next week and I am looking to field a competetive yet not cheesy list. The army outlined below is an expansion of a 1200pt Iyanden list I have been playing with great success. I am very interested to hear (figuratively) your impressions of this army and any suggestions/critisims you may have. I think I am currently a few points over and at this point will probably drop a couple of harlequins to get back within my limit. Altenatively I am tempted to drop the warlocks and either replace them DAs or put the harlies in the falcon. This would give me a few more point maybe to add destructor/spear mounted warlocks to the HB squads

The Seer Council has a problem when it disembarks from the Falcon,
because the Farseer cannot cast fortune at that time (I guess you
know it: He can cast it only at the beginning of the movement phase,
but then he's in the tank and inside a tank casting is not possible - see FAQs).

I'd tool up the Falcon by giving each WLs only one heavy weapon.

Good list. Strong but not cheesy at all. I think Iyanden is inherently cheese-repellent in this edition.

Your instinct is correct, I think- drop the Warlocks, put the Harlies in the Falcon. This will really up your objective-grabbing potential, and make your counterassault more potent. Whittle the Harlies down, the points can easily go elsewhere. Dropping the Warlocks and 2 Harlies should get you about 184.

The Falcon's going to cost a lot more than you estimate there, though- around 210 fully loaded. I'd recommend tricking it out, as it's your only tank and carrying a precious cargo to boot. Make sure they get there by adding VE at the very least. If you have to cut corners, go for a shuicannon as your secondary armament- but don't drop holos, VE or stones.

I dissagree with wuestenfx- keep the heavies on your WLs. This is both offensive power, and an incentive for the enemy to try to close with your very tough but short-ranged firebase. You're short on longranged anti-tank as-is, so another BL is probably a good idea. Speaking of the WLs, I'd drop the scatterlaser for another BL.

While DA's look tempting, they will be the only soft targets in your advancing firebase, and will die quickly to heavy bolters, long-range bolterfire... heck, even lasguns. Leave 'em out. It's better to capitalize on your 3+ save preponderence and increase your maneuver elements- so more jetbikes would serve you well. Opponents will probably have good MEQ-killers, but lots of MEQ armor saves that can JSJ will probably prove frustruating. It's true that you may run out of cover to hid all these units behind, but given at least two likely targets for your early shooting, you can split them into two firegroups and find plenty of hiding-places.

And if you have the change left over, slap some Runes of Warding on that Farseer. Its a tourney, after all. Nerfing Lash a bit is probably a good idea. If no points are available, no real sweat.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!
