I'm interested to see what the people of dakkadakka have to say about this list. I won't add any qualifiers to the beginning except that it has proven extremely effective for me, despite the general consensus that many of the units and options I take are not "competitive".

Serious lack of rokkits throughout, particularly on the kans. Props on taking nobs, burnas, etc, but what do the burnas actually do for you? Do they not die because you have so many other killy units for the enemy to deal with?

I used to run the burnas in a looted wagon with 2 big shootas and a skorcha, but the damn thing kept getting killed before they got anywhere, so I dropped it, moved the battlewagon from the nobs to heavy support and now the burnas run in it. With grot riggers and 2 meks inside the thing is very hard to take down or even stop for long without utterly destroying it and when it gets to where it's going I have the option of 12 flame templates out of it along with the deathroller or an assaulting unit of power weapons. I usually end up just flaming a squad, even marines can't take that many hits without suffering alot of casualties.
The general idea of the army is to overwhelm the AT capabilities of the opposing army. I have played a few games against a tau army with this and also done well, despite the fact that every model in the army was capable of damaging my units.
@stelek: The KFF goes wherever he is needed. Sometimes it's behind my kans or a dread, sometimes it's inside or around the wagon. The versatility of that particular item means it's not relegated to protecting a specific unit.

Hmmm.
I'm pretty sure I could drop every Kan with my Tau. I have as many suits as you have AV12 (or less) vehicles and 2 hammerheads for your battlewagon.
The battlewagon would take a couple turns (till I did blow it up).
So, it isn't bad but against lists that can handle MC lists I don't think you'll do well with this many vehicles.

Here's the decision I force on a tau gun line: Do you shoot at all the kans/ dreads and battlewagon or the 2 trukks full of boys/nobz and the squad of deff koptas that I zoom out at full speed? There's only so much an army can kill in one turn. Now, with some lucky rolling it is possible to eliminate a good portion of my army in one round, and I've had it happen. The key is that while ideally it seems an easy list to beat with tau, the notorious misses from the hammerhead's railgun makes it far from a sure thing.

Markerlights help. I run a bunch.
I run a (in my honest opinion) a very krushy Tau army.
4 markerlights.
3 units that fire 3 S6 shots @ 36", BS3.
3 units that fire 6 S7 shots @ 36", BS3 + 3 S6 shots @ 24", BS3.
1 unit that fires 2 S7 shots @ 36", BS4 + 1 S6 shots @ 24", BS4.
3 units that fire 1 S8 shot @ BS4 + 2 S5 shots @ BS2 (TL), all at 12".
2 units that fire 1 S10 shot @ 72" BS4 + 4 S5 shots @ BS4.
1 unit with 4 S5 shots @ 30", BS3.
Only these two units cannot use the markerlights;
2 units with 10 S4 shots @ 24", BS3.
I am never one to say it's a guarantee, but it's quite within the realm of possibility that every vehicle you have will be popped the first turn.
That kills most of your army, and limits you to moving ground units...of which you have few.
Nothing is 'easy' mind you, but I'd kill your army in this order:
Kill the dreads with medium AT fire (S7 and S8)
Kill the trukks with light fire.
Fire all heavy bolters, plasma, and autocannon fire in units, into the killa kans.
Direct heavy AT fire into the trukks then the dreads to make sure they are dead.
If killa kans survive, that's ok you can kill them next turn.
Got anything left? Kill the battlewagon.
That's just one turn from most of my armies.
When you run a vehicle heavy army, you've got to be ridiculous. I'll put up a ridiculous vehicle army for you to look at, based on what you have now.

This is how you spam people with vehicles.
Only 1 battlewagon, people can handle.
4 trukks, 9 kans, 2 dreads, 3 loota units, 9 buggy units...all of which can move and fire a ton of shots.
Yeah, this would overwhelm my Tau or my IG.
Too many units, hard to prioritize. I might be able to beat it but it's hard to say.

Stelek the list you just provided is even more susceptible to your tau list of:

'El Fireknife

3x Stealthteam
3x Piranha
2x kroot
1x Firewarrior
Markerlight plus blast templates = end of small loota squads.
Buggies are all wiped due to SMS or Kroot
and all the kans are wiped due to your crisis...
all Light slow armor is at a serious disadvantage against an army like necrons or tau/ IG which can just pump some serious shots. and shoota boyz suck in trukks Dakkalad as they are not going to win the first round of combat and are going to get stuck in pretty poorly and then wiped out.

You missed the point.
I have 4xcrisis teams, 2xrailheads, 3xpiranha, 2xkroot, 1xwarrior, and 3xsniper drones teams.
I can only kill so much in one turn, and if the buggies or the orks get into me and lock me up--even if I win combat and chase them away, have I killed the 11 dreadnoughts coming to say hello?
Odds are, I haven't.
Blast templates should never kill more than 1 or 2 lootas at a time. You can spread them way out.
If you think the hammerheads or piranhas will be alive after the orks shoot back on turn 1, you gotta get out and play more bud.

To return to the first post:
The defensive wargear on your meks is useless. How many times have they been targeted when they weren't obliterated anyway? Was that worth 20 points?
12 burnas is too many. Because template weapons are done one at a time the last few burnas don't get more than a couple models. As well, on the charge, each burna kills .75 of a marine. Even after a couple die because of low I, you are still killing too many. The chance of being stranded out in the open on your opponent's turn is too large.
Rokkits for the kans are a must. With such high BS (  ), it's best to take advantage of the single shot weapons. Besides, rokkits are still better at killing marines than big shootas.
I'll also advise a killcannon for the battle wagon. Just don't be tempted to fire it before the burnas disembark.

These squads do nothing, no nob, no hitting power, no nothing. I have one squad to add speed to a slow list. Taking three of them is idiocy. Do any of you actually play an ork army?

Those squads are there to tie up and/or threaten enemy shooting squads. Against non-close combat squads, thaey can even kick some ass. The trukks also add more vehicles. I do think it would be better to drop one squad to get nobs for the others though.

It won't ever happen the way you are describing it. you are looking at getting charged turn 4 at the earliest from those dreads and with all those shots @5+ it would be tough on most lists like this
@OP
The only thoughts I have about the composition with your list is some of the war gear.
Personally i find that trukks are best kept at 40pts or less. They are too fraile IMO.
On the dreads I would recommend giving them the big shootas or giving them more klaws. The BS3 on the Kanz is much better for giving them the Kustom blasta.

Yes I agree that the BS of the dreads is low for a one shot weapon, however I give them the KMB to keep them themed with the army and because I enjoy the grotzookas too much to give em up. Almost everyone has mentioned the wargear on my meks as being an issue. Where might I put those points if I was to drop them?
