I had an interesting question come up at my last game, so I thought I'd post it on here to see what yall think. So I have two Plague Censer Bearers in battle versus four Ogre Bulls. I fire into the combat with my Ratling gun, and kill one ogre and both my Plague Censer Bearers. The question is, did the Ogre Bulls have to take a Panic test? You don't have to take panic tests if you're in combat, BUT at the end of the Shooting Phase they were out of combat because both the PCB's were killed. We ruled that they did not have to take a Panic test just to avoid conflict, but what do yall think?

Well, technically you answered yourself already: It's the end of the shooting phase, the unit isn't in combat, it suffered 25% casualties. That's all you need to know.

Also, I'm curious after the life is cheap rule in teamplay. It litterally says you can shoot when enemies are in contact with 'friendly' units. So this would mean the skaven player may fire at enemies, eventhough his teamplayer (not skaven) is in combat with it. But wouldn't it be as logical for the team player to shoot at units in close combat with skaven?

I'd have to say, yes, it would be perfectly fine to fire into a combat involving your enemy and your ally.

The team player would not be able to fire into combat between the skaven player an his enemy. Life is Cheap would only pertain to the Skaven commander, not any potential ally. You wouldn't allow Empire knights to be in lance formation just because they were alligned with Brets, for example.
That said, AMP187 is correct, it would seem that you could fire into combat involving any friendly unit.
