Ok,

I have spent some time looking over the post here on the first page about AT-43. I recently moved near the Cleveland area of OH and I spent a part of my day checking out a couple of local game shops. Both shops were stocked full of AT-43 stuff and both said that they are a growing game in the area!

I accidentally, cough, cough picked up a box of UNA Tacarm troops and I almost bought them! I stopped myself cause I wanted to know if you can build an army around TacArms??

I was also drawn to the Karmans as well. I think what I like most is that they are pre-painted which helps me out with the little time I have for the hobby anymore. I kind of want to sell off some of the 40k and fantasy stuff and get into this game, but I need more info!

Anything you guys can help me with would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Chappy P!

Well actually yes you could field an army around TacArms but there's drawback. You ABSOLUTELY need som kind of infantry because they're the only type of unit who can capture and hold objectives. In game terms, TacArms are absolutely destructive when it comes to firepower but they're also fragile to enemy fire. You need to carefully plan your moves with TacArms, otherwise you're beautiful unit yont hold very long...

If you want to judge it by yourself if you like AT-43 or not, go take a look at their website. The official rulebook is available for free and you can even look at every stats of the UNA infantry.

Thanks for the reply...

I am so torn between the four factions...

UNA: I like most of the units and I like the color scheme, but I think I would want to make the units have the tri-lens' but I know that eats up a lot of points.

Therians: I'd build an army around Tiamat, but I am not sure what works best with her

Red Blok: I'd go for a Dragonov Spetsnaz army in a heart beat

Karmans: I like all of the models released so far, I just don't know what works for them at this point.

I have read the pdf rules and I think I want to get into the game, I just don't know what faction to start. So anyone with an opinion just let me know...

I think I want to go with a special forces looking UNA force...I think that's where I would like to start!

I need help,
Thanks,
Chappy P!

Yeh, I did the same thing. Decided I wasn't jumping into yet another game system. Made the mistake of walking into my local FLGS heavy by about 3/4 L of some really prime rice wine (stuff's calld Joy, I highly recommend it!). Woke up the next day hung over calling my FLGS owner asking what the hell had I bought. He began to laugh and explain to me what "Red Blok" are.

It's a good game. Pre-paints are a plus. Plays fast once you know the rules. My first full "game" was againts a guy who didn't really know much more than me, my second full game was against a Vice Versa reject so was really hard to take. I'm still trying to learn me up the rules some, but for what it's worth it's pretty cool so far.

Yeah I have heard nothing but good things about the game. I love the idea of pre-paints, mainly due to my lack of time to paint, being married with a son and possible child number three on the way...

Although, I am being torn yet again with AE-WW2 by Darkson Designs...it's pulp WW2 set in an alternate universe...

My ultimate goal would be to sell most of my GW fantasy stuff and use the proceeds to buy into AT-43, possibly Confrontation age of Ragnarok and AE-WW2...

thanks for letting me know what you think about AT-43, please keep me posted!

Thanks,
Chappy P!
