Hey guys, this is for a 1000 pt tourney at the local club.

I'm looking to make it as competitive as possible, so feel free to tear it up. I feel pretty good about it, though.

Now, I could either go more troop heavy, dropping at the extreme all vehicles and including a couple of devastator squads. I also have a couple of Rhinos at my disposal, if I so choose. And a Librarian.

If you run into any mission with Escalation you are in trouble as you will only get your Master to start with. Try switching to Rhinos with 2 Storm Bolters (in case you have to start in Reserve) and switch the Plasma Cannons to Lascannons.

Personally, I like the Pred Destructors over Land Speeders, with the DA book, you got to take the good, cheap units when you can.

Well, as far as I know, escalation allows me to deploy the half of the tac squads not in the Razorbacks.. correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks for your input though; I might try the rhinos.

I'd suggest switching the Vindicator for a Whirlwind - the Vindicator has a short range and really needs other tanks for support to get that big howitzer where it needs to be.

You are wrong. If you roll Escalation, you can't use the Combat Squads rule. This means that the 10 man squad has to walk on from the backfield. The 5th edition rumors will change that as reserves work more like they do in Apocalypse.

Oh, and I agree with Nurglitch, without other tanks, that Vindie won't make it past the second turn.

Just to nitpick: Units coming in from reserve cannot use Combat Squads. If Escalation requires a unit come in from reserves, then it follows that the unit cannot be split into Combat Squads.

Less nitpicky: I'm pretty sure that you can't take Razorbacks for 10 Marine squads.

Nurglitch, you can but it can only transport the combat squad(s). It only screws you over if you roll Escalation.
