How many melta bombs can assault marines carry? and how many times can they use them in a battle? I thought they were a use once device.

When you buy melta bombs for a squad you automatically give them enough to carry for the entire battle for the points cost listed. For example, For 4pts (I think) each assault marines get a full supply of melta bombs. Each marine gets one attack with a melta bomb per turn.

Where did you get the idea you had to buy individual bombs?

Mekboy is right. Perhaps the OP is confusing the fact that you only get one attack when you use meltabombs with the idea that you can only use them once per battle (not at all the same thing).

I think what has confused me is the size of the Melta bombs , and the fact I think the jump packs could not lift a marine carrying more than one. Many thanks for the reply , but can you tell me where the rules are for bombs or are they classed as grenades?

They're grenades. One use, only for attacking vehicles, and so on.

Scale means nothing in 40k.

CaptK, did you just say that size doesn't matter?

When using scale, I tend to 'zoom' in 2x.

My wife says it feels the same, but I swear it's at least 2x as good.

They aren't one use, they can be used an unlimited amount of times. All grenades can unless stated otherwise.

I think he meant "they only have one use: attacking vehicles"

BTW, if you ever have to take a Warlord Titan on, Get your assault Marines into B2B with it.

Drop a Warlord in two turns that way..........

I should have said: "They're grenades. One attack, only for attacking vehicles, and so on."

Paing for the original cost supplies them fully for the battle. They can be used over and over again, as they've got a full supply, but with only one attack. It may seem strange, but as stated earlier the scale is way off. And fluff-wise, a Space Marine carries enough extra gear to look like one of our boys in Iraq, fully suited up with supply and gear. But it doent really work to well on most models.
