Official confirmation for those that are interested.

Because the official GW gift guides weren't enough official confirmation?

I have to revise the Stormcast one though:
Stormcast Eternals Vanguard Brotherhood
32 models
1x box of Vanguard Raptors
1x Lord-Aquilor
1x Vanguard Hunters box
1x Vanguard Palladors box
2x Gryph-Hounds box

That's a LOT of Gryph-Hounds...

This is the internet, and we're talking about GW. Literally nothing is ever official confirmation, and even if it is we will argue that it is not unless it is the worst thing to ever happen to the wargaming hobby in which case it is always official no matter what the source.

Also, not enough Gryph-Hounds. Never enough Gryph-Hounds. Gryph-Hounds solo army when?

Let's hope they actually produce more than last year when it was almost impossible to get these except direct and there's no way I'm buying without my 20% discount, it would all but wipe out the benefit. Element had about 3 of each one last year and put them on sale on a table first come first served. I can't believe they're preorder now with Necromunda and the 40K Open Day. I will have to look extremely carefully at my finances before I can consider one sadly.

Any word on price yet? Usually got pricing by now. Last year they were £100. At that price they are great.

Well, given that the official GW gift guide was evidently wrong about the contents of the Stormcast box, I guess it really isn't enough confirmation.

Just so we're clear, the gift guide didn't have any listings.

It had a picture. It was still a small picture.

My thoughts exactly, there are the boxes on Warhammer Community but no prices.

Thanks for the £100 tip off. I'll work out the savings now!

On my usual Element Games prices at their discount for the box I save £50 on the IG box. Wow!

Yeah it's not a bad saving, I've just had my birthday and have a bit of cash to spend. I'll probably get a couple of the IG boxes as I'm after more sentinels, ogryns and chimeras, more troops are never a bad thing and I'll use the Leman Russ's to make variants that aren't the battle cannon.

I checked the savings, each one averages around £130-150 at rrp so £30-50 saving at £100 price,

However the exception is the undead box because you can get neferata and the grave guard in start collecting and get the knights....so if you bought start collecting, then the rest, you don't save much.

I'm tempted by the kharadon overlords one......

Similar, I have no Chimeras (though there isn't really room in my case for more vehicles) gonna build the Leman Russ as a plasmacutioner, build Bullgryns for melee (though really expensive for my mostly vehicle army so wont field them often, I would prefer Crusaders but they've been perma out of stock), I have 3 sentinels already waiting to build so will build either 3 scout and 1 armoured or vice versa and the Cadians just build up in to more troops as I'm trying to slowly build an infantry brigade up though I would prefer some HW teams.

You get a Mortarch in the Start Collectings, same as here. There's 3 of 'em all told and they don't hold back any pieces in the SC so you don't hurt for them.

Also, none of the "Start Collecting" sets include Grave Guard. They include Skeleton Warriors in the Deathrattle one. The "big savings" here is that you get a box of Morghast that is basically the cost of the savings(you save $75.50 versus buying everything individually and Morghast are $60 for 2. The savings is more/less the Morghast and Wight King on foot).

Now, if you want to do pure Deathrattle? There's better ways to do it. Buy 2-3x Deathrattle Barrow Lords sets at $65 each and you get 20-30 Grave Guard, 2-3 Wight Kings, and 10-15 Black Knights.
That comes out to $267 individually versus 195 for those boxes.
Use the difference($72) to buy Skeleton Warrior boxes and you have a pretty nifty set-up.

Man, I feel like the GSC and AM boxes would make for a pretty good start to a mechanized GSC list. The only odd thing out would be the Ogryn. Maybe add an extra arm and some green stuff and call them Abberants. Hmm.

Or play them as Ogryns by the Broodbrother rules.

Hmm I tried a few of my usual online retailers and it seems that, in the UK, these are severely limited outside of the biggest online retailers and GW themselves....

With undead, Grave Guard are one of the allies boxes, I worked out that from a 20% off retailer you could get the content of the undead battleforce plus two lots of cavalry for about £2 more than the GW price for the box.

Well yeah. Because it's a splash release, not a regular stock item.

They do this every year with these big boxes.

lol?

So you get a Deathrattle Barrow Lords set(40GBP from GW;32GBP from a discounter) for a box of 10 Grave Guard, the Wight King, and a set of Black Knights.
You then get a Start Collecting: Skeleton Horde(50GBP from GW, 40 GBP from a discounter) for a box of 10 Skeletons, Mortarch, and a second set of Black Knights.
You then are paying 15.50 GBP(12.40 discounted) for a second set of Skeleton Warriors, 25.50GBP(20.40 discounted) for a second box of Grave Guard, and 36 GBP(28.8 discounted) for the Morghast.

Discounted price is 133.60 GBP for the way you suggested things. The GW price of the army box is 100GBP from what's been said(which lines up with the 170 USD price tag).
That's a bit more than 2 more than the GW price for the box...

Spoiler:

This box only has 10 Grave Guard, not 20. And it has no Black Knights. If you buy the Narrow Lords and the SC! one you are basically changing the two Morghast and 10 more skeletons for 10 Black Knights. For nearly the same price of buying this boxes from 3rd party. But to be honest if I wish to start a skeleton army I'll buy the three boxes.

You end with 2 Mortharcs, 2 Morghast, 10 Knights, 30 normal Skeletons, 20 Grave Guard and two Kings for something like 150-160 pounds.

You're right, I don't know why I kept thinking 20 Grave Guard.

Corrected accordingly, you're looking at 113.20GBP for buying stuff individually versus 100GBP for the box.

Must have missed a £10 somewhere....... Though the extra £13 is buying you 2 sets of 5 cavalry which cost more than that discounted for one set.

Last year quite a few online stores had the sets, they sold out fast obviously but they had them to begin with, this year some I asked are saying they didn't even get the chance to get them.

I'll see, I was planning on getting 2 Kharadon and selling the second lord, but at full price I'm less enthused about 2 grundstok and having to sell the lord, which in turn makes me less bothered as you need a second battle line unit to make the box legal if you buy one, and you don't have the transport capacity in one box for that second unit...... a company and a frigate are about £63 at discount,.

The problem is that from what I'm understanding of your proposal, you seem to be ignoring that these discount sets are meant to be more of a one-off or start of an army than they are a "booster" for existing players. I'm really not sure why you would buy 2 sets of 5 cavalry when there are 2 discount boxes that have them and components for the big box if you're trying to duplicate it.

Last year quite a few online stores had the sets, they sold out fast obviously but they had them to begin with, this year some I asked are saying they didn't even get the chance to get them.

I can't be too upset about that. Purely online shops should, quite bluntly, be at the back of the queue for these things.

It's worth mentioning that the Age of Sigmar boxes contain a Warscroll Battalion in them.

It does not seem like they will be but, as I've mentioned repeatedly, these boxes tend to be splash releases so are only available for a certain amount of time.

When I added it up I got $245 but it still sounds like a great deal especially if you already have knights.
