Recently I won some store credit at my FLGS, so I picked up some gaunts and some stealers because I wanted to try out the dip method out. I have played 40k for many years now of course, but Tyranids seem much different than they were in previous editions, and I havent played them before anyhow.

I was thinking that 1500 would be a good number to start with. I would prefer to start smaller but I'm thinking about taking advantage of the elite 'fex rule.

I'm definitely want a gunfex ( Is the 2+ save and regenerate worth it?) and raveners. I was thinking having a couple small bare bones units of 'nid warriors, just to spread out the hive mind bubble. My gaunts will be spinegaunts. I may take some hormagaunts.

Any suggestions from experienced nid guys? Are there a lot of conversions necessary to get the 'fexes I'll want? Any suggestion on tactics is appreciated.

Another question. The 'stealer box only comes with a few "special" heads. Is one head enough to represent, say, flesh hooks? Or do I need to make a trip to get bitz?
