Hi, this is my first post here, wanted to see what some other people think about my army. It has fifth edition in mind. I used grey knights for a while, but teleporting was too unreliable for me even with homers. i think kasrkin look cooler anyway though, especially with 40 of them.
HQ: 340
Stern/GM, 4 Terminators, 1 TH/SS, 1 Incinerator
Troops: 712
10 Stormtroopers, 2 Meltas, Rhino w/ smokes+ea
10 Stormtroopers, 2 Meltas, Rhino w/ smokes+ea
10 Stormtroopers, 2 Plasmas, Rhino w/ smokes+ea
10 Stormtroopers, 2 Plasmas, Rhino w/ smokes+ea
Heavy Support: 544
2 Dreadnoughts, TLL and MLs, smokes
1 Land Raider Crusader, smokes+ea (transports terminators)
elites: 147
1 Inquisitor, Emperor's Tarot
1 Vindicare Assassin
I had veterans in my trooper squads with power weapons and melta bombs, but that costs 31 extra points each. that 124 pts freed up enough to get my vindicare which i think is much more valuable than 4 str 3 ws 3 power weapons.
I think the emperor's tarot is very important for this army because going first really helps it. I can pop smoke launchers on all my transports, and get some shots off with the vindicare and my dreds.
No ea on the dreds, their movement rarely is so crucial that it would be worth taking out a trooper.

Honestly I think any swarm-type army like orks, non-zilla nids, etc will really give you a hard time. You've got lots of anti-marine weapons and nothing that can take out a large amount of troops. But if you play lots of marines, it might be ok.

i don't know i have been sampling a very similar list and you can lay alot down with those hellguns doubletapping. plus at AP 5 those swarm armies aren't gettin any saves. i also have a bunch of heavy bolters in the rest of my list so that may make a difference.

712 points in stormtroopers.
You're not playing grey knights, you're playing...IG with BS4 and no heavy weapons.
This isn't a good list by any stretch of the imagination.
No idea how to fix it without writing a new list entirely.

If you think 32 lasguns (even BS4 AP5 lasguns) will solve horde problems, you've probably never actually faced a horde. 7 dead Orks at 24", 14 more dead Orks at 12". You killed one mob of Orks, great! Now you're dead.

i have yet to play a horde army, just marines, tau, csm, and not-horde nids. i suppose i could switch the meltas and plasmas for grenade launchers and flamers.
yeah, it is pretty much a ig army without heavy weapons. but the only other way i can really see it working is having gks instead of 2 trooper squads. in my experience, troopers usually do better than gks, as they can take a transport and don't have to worry about bad reserves roles or scattering when your tele homers are dead.
i just thought 4 troop choices that are basically guard elites would do pretty well in 5th. thanks for comments.
