I am new to Warmachine. I recently purchased the Khador box and I will soon be playing against a friend who has both a Cygnar and Cryx box. Any advice on how to beat either of those two groups? Thanks!

I also just started Khador, and have been generally victorious in Battlegroup games (mostly against Menoth). As I understand it, Khador is unbalanced at this level of game (in our favour). Sorscha's feat is pretty much game-ending if you can freeze your opponent's warcaster and get him/her into melee with ANY of your models (automatic hits, just spend focus to keep hacking away). If you can soften his 'caster up on the way in with an arced Destroyer shot, so much the better (he will have to keep a screening 'jack within 1" of his caster to prevent you from targetting him).

I haven't played against Cryx yet - you'll be outnumbered 5 to 3 at this level, so watch out for flanking runs to hit Sorscha. I'd be interested in hearing how that matchup goes for you, actually.

Grain of salt: I'm a Warmachine newbie too - the veterans here may contradict me. Listen to them.

Always screen/protect your caster and watch out for those arc nodes!

Use your jacks to protect your caster, but just casting (Wind Rush?) Sorscha's movement and +4 DEF spell is a big help too. Don't stand so close to your jacks that your opponent can slam them into your caster and knock her down.

Remember that a Cygnar arc node jack can run 12" and still arc a spell, and a Cryx one can do 14". Pay attention to their threat ranges, and crush the arc nodes early if you can.
