Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

Taking 3 LC/ HB Preds in 1500, is that going to be enough anti-tank. Other than the Champ/ HQ Meltabombs. After that everything is anti-infantry altho I might take a CSM squad with a couple melta guns and two min-sized reaper termie squads.
And what about 2 Preds and a Vindi. The preds would sit in cover in this case.
And what about in 2000. They would sit in cover in this case, too, even if there was three of them.

Oblits really are definately your best anti-tank unit. Once glancing hit makes a Pred useless for an entire turn. Also, HB sponsons are not a very good weapon for an anti-tank platform. If you are shooting at tanks those points are wasted.
Vindicator, Oblits, and Havoks are all better for the points cost than a Predator. As a general rule, I like to have 1 heavy weapon (lascannon, missile, ordinance, etc.) for every 250 points.

If you do want to take Preds, either leave off the HB sponsons and move around a lot, or put on Lascannon sponsons and sit in cover.
Personally though, I would agree that Obliterators and Havok squads are the way to go, or Vindicators.

You know I didn't realize the sponsons were optional. 6 HB shots that will only get used once or twice (if that), or a noise marine with a sonic blaster that will shoot 2+ times, and earlier in the game. I think I will leave them off.
Chaos preds can take Daemonic Possession, which makes them more reliable anti-tank. No shake-lock.
What-to-do, what-to-do. My old marine army did fine with 4 Lascannons in two dev squads and 3 or 4 meltaguns spread around.
I really wanted to take tanks, Khorne is going to WAR. He doesn't leave his guns at home.
I do not want to take a LR because it will be up against brightlances. Better two Preds than one LR.
I do not want to buy the models and find them useless but I will probably get two preds for the flanks and something meaner in the middle.
Also, thanks .

Even when they're attached to Noise Marines, huh?
With the new cover rules for vehicles, do you think it might be worthwhile to put on the las sponsons? They're awfully expensive, but tempting. Without the, the Pred isn't really very killy.

A Slanneshi sorceror is getting some help from an equally ambitious Khorne warlord. The gods have decided to favour them in the name of being extra chaosy. They also figure it will be fun to watch them turn on each other to divide the spoils.
Also, I wanted to try lash followed up by 20 Berzerkers and a Lord on jugger.
This is what I will probably do, only because TS chipped in.
On the flanks: 2x 130 pt TL LC Possessed preds w/ Dirge Casters.
In the middle: 3x LC Possessed pred pill boxed. Or maybe a double or triple squad of Obliterators. Probably the tanks at first because I will not be interested in painting the oblits.
Problem with preds is that AV11 that is weak to deep striking.
I like the triple LC pred over the LR, just because of the cost of the thing. Also because both are equally weak to lance weapons.

With pred's, either go auto cannon and heavy bolter sponsoons for troop killing, go tripple las for tank hunting, or go home. Any other combination is just a waste of points. Making it possessed is a good idea if you are going to be counting on it as your primary source of anti tank fire.

Actually, taking the cheap(er) pred with only turret las and a dozer blade makes a surprisingly effective sniper. I've taken this config a few times, and it makes a great unit for popping light-medium tanks, plus it doesn't register as too much of a threat thanks to it only having one gun (that, I have a beefy Land Raider crouching near-by).
