"'bout ye"
hope you enjoyed this traditional belfast n. ireland greeting
its about time i introduced myself
i'm an oldie at 48 but fairly new to the game - a mere 3 years
i got involved when some students in the school where i teach asked me to help them run a lunchtime warhammer club. i found it really interesting and i'm still here
i play mainly deathwing but also have about 1500 points each of guard and nids (mainly genestealers which i love). i have had to collect various armies to allow new kids in the school club to play until they settle on their own armies. 2 of my sons are now interested and we can play at home. they collect tau and spacewolves and orks so the battles can be fever pitch!
we have also started to dabble slightly in fantasy, with 1000 point dwarf and bretonnian armies.
hope to be around these forums more in the future.

Welcome to dakka! What is the general gaming scene like in Northern Ireland? Are there many GWs around or is it just belfast that has one?

there is one main gw shop in belfast and at least a few dept stores that also sell gw products.
the belfast gw store has a thriving community of gamers and some schools have lunchtime clubs like ours

Hey, welcome to Dakka!
What does your Deathwing composition look like? I'm piecing my own together and am curious what you threw in for units.

Nice I've got 3 squads myself so far, 1w/close combat weapons and ccm, the other two with a mix of chainfists, 1xassault cannon, and 1xccm. I'm thinking of going with a librarian as opposed to the chaplain though. No drop pods?

at 1500 points i can only run belial, 2 ven dreads with ml andlc and 4 squads of termies so i don't have points for a drop pod.
i found the deathwing tactics thread at warseer really helpful - lots of really experienced wing players who give good advice
