Getting my broom incase there is shenanigans.

My Gladiator:

I was very busy this past month painting part of my TT army, and I wanted to take 30 Harlequins and 2 Fire Prisms, but I did not have time to assemble/paint them, so I ended up taking my regular RTT list +Fire Dragons. I think I could have done better with the army I wanted to take, but that is the breaks.

Eldrad
The Avatar
Six harlies incl. Seer & Troupe Master
Six fire dragons incl. exarch
Seven Dire Avengers incl. exarch (bladestorm)
3x 10 guardians w/ brightlance platform
2x 4 Jetbikes incl. shuriken cannon & Destructor Warlock
2x Super-Falcon
Five Fire Dragons w/ Exarch w/ missile launcher

Game #1 vs. Redbeard
You can read his report for the details. My army does well against small elite armies, but not very well against hordes. Add to this that it was an objective mission, and I was in a world of hurt.

I might have had a chance if we got in the full 6 turns and I went last (going last was the big difference). But I went first and we only got 4 turns in.

Game #2 vs Emperor’s Children
I played against
2 Demon Princes with lash
4x 6 Noise Marines
2x 10 Raptors
Obliterator
Obliterator

I forgot the players name but he had a very well painted Pre-Heresy Emperor’s Children army.

He basically lashed the heck out of me (he would not roll above a 12 even with runes of warding) and moved my units around. He moved up his raptors and assaulted me. He killed a lot of my army, but my counter assault units where way out of position in the Falcons. I finally got them into position and the beatings began and I ended up with a win.

Game #3 was against Chris Long from the Fly Lords of Terra/BoLS playing Mech Eldar.
I lost his list but you know the drill. I ended up downing a Falcon on turn #1 and then for the next 4 turns the battle went back and forth.

Turn #4 is where Phil Kelly cost me the game. He had 2 Farseers on Jetbikes, and on turn #4 they both took a wound from Perils of the Warp, and they both failed the Ghost Helm save. So they are dead right? Well, he then took an Inv save (which he made both). I had to explain that you do not get an Inv save, and that is why they have the Ghost Helm. Since we had a disagreement, I saw that Phil Kelly was right behind us so we asked him what the rule is. He said that you do get the Inv save. Then we returned to play I looked up the rule and it says that you do not get saves of any kind, and that the Farseers should be dead. When I informed my opponent of what I found, he said that Phil Kelly said that they did, and that was the end of it. It cost me the game. See, people, ignorance of the rules does pay off!

Game #4 was against Chaos.
It took me 4 days to remember what army I played in the 4th game, and I have no idea how it went. I was kind of phoning it in at that point.

Considering that Mr. Kelly has been busy helping with the 5th edition rules for some time now, that might be an educational slip of the tongue rather than simple ignorance of the rules.

And I think I came in 98th, which Darrian13 was glad to remind me of all weekend.

I did better on Sat and Sun and I went 3-0-1 in the Team Tournament, and 2-0-1 in the Championships.

I tease Blackmoor because he is the guy that taught me the most in 40K and the player that has beaten me the most often. It is not often that he does poorly in a tourney, so I have to make the most of my oppurtunities to tease him.

This is Reapers, right?

Yes, you might have done better with all those harlies and some fire prisms. They cut down hordes fairly well.

Just curious what your list would have been? No fire dragons, no dire avengers? What else would have been cut? A guardian unit? Or the bikes?

No love man.

Ouch on the Perils thing. I am a little surprised you weren't 100% on the rule yourself, though, since you've played Eldar for so long. Oh well.

Would have liked to see how your preferred list would have done. When's your next chance to field it?

I was 100% on the PotW, but so was my opponent.

I made the mistake when I did not look it up in the book. I should have insisted that we play by the rule, but my minor loss in round #1 took me out of the running, so I did not really care.

The next time I have a chance to run it should be a year from now at next years Gladiator.

Sergio, sorry about that. I can't believe that I forgot that I played you. Maybe because I play you so often, it did not stand out.
