1) Would it be possible to allow linking/embedding externally hosted pictures. I have thousands of pictures on my own server already and it seems like it would be a lot easier to add articles if I could just link to them. (Can we use html tags in the wiki format?)

2) If not, could there be a way to upload images from a URL instead of from your hard drive, as I don't have most of my pictures stored on my personal PC, but on my server instead.

And

3) Could the upload image system be tweaked to allow mass uploads, rather than going through the system one at a time.

1) The idea for articles is that they effectively are permanent, that means we want to make sure the pictures in them don't up and disappear as the currents on the internet change.

Sure, you may be down for hosting your pictures for the next 10 years, but the same certainly can't be said for others and you never know for sure when someone's article pictures would then suddenly disappear.

In short, article pictures need to be hosted by us just for continuity sake (so no html tags in the wiki format).

2 & 3 are both great ideas (especially #3) but only legoburner can answer those questions for sure.

As of now, you can only upload one file at a time but if it is possible to implement, you can bet it is something we'll be doing.

I for one would endorse anything that gets Redbeard to
post more pictures. (of his armies)

Yes 2 and 3 are something that can and will be done in the future, but they are part of a much bigger set of things that will be coming that they probably wont exist until Autumn/Fall of this year I am afraid. I will have a look and see if I can support multi-file uploads to the articles system without too much hassle, and if so I'll put that in sooner (next few weeks), but for now it is just the one file at a time process I am afraid.

Thanks for the stuff you have done so far though, your Eldar army is fantastic and your contributions have been great!
