*^*Update a few posts down*^*

Hi, Just got back into the hobby recently and found this board, Signed up because you lot don't mess about and give proper advice.

Anyway, I always wanted to do a tanith force, I've read all the books at least twice now and have decided to bite the bullet. I managed to get hold of at least one of all the GW tanith models before they decimated the bits ordering. I haven't done any painting or modelling for yonks so be gentle.

The one with the green on it is the start of what I plan to do, he's pretty ad hoc at the minute and a massive WIP. I'm more after critique on my paint scheme/painting generally. Any Opinions are welcome. Also is there anywhere or any models that are relatively cheap inlarge numbers with none helmeted heads?

Thanks.

The eyes on the painted model are unsettling, I would recommend using another technique. The way I do eyes is color the whole thing black and then paint two small white triangles on the sides, leaving the iris in the middle and some black around the edges showing. That or, as the GW staff at the store I go to do, dont paint the iris at all. What you have makes the model look either very surprised or in a homicidal rage, neither of which is indicated by the pose.

Also, though it is hard to tell b/c of the quality of the photo, but it doesnt look like you've highlighted much at all, except for the cloak. Consider at least a dry brush or an over brush on the clothes and skin.

I do like the tattoos, but personally I like them better when done dark blue and highlighted up to a lighter blue.

If you can swing it, a line across the top of the eye should
reduce "stoner eye" and create the illusion of an eyelid.

You might want to look at West Wind's sperate Head system, they sell metal WWII heads including berets which should be good for Ghosts.

Hello, Thanks for the feedback. I went away and tried to improve some as I said i've been out for a while and the painting on here is of such a high standard and I can't compete but I prefer honest and helpful views than just being given the thumbs up. Thought I'd update with the small amount of work i've had chance to do.

I tried to redo the eyes and the skin hopefully for the better, and add some weathering to the gun, this picture was just taken using a lamp I'm going to build a lightbox this weekend I think. Next to do are the tatoo's. I know it's not much but I've not had chance recently. Anyway, any comments welcome. I'm still amazed at the some of the stuff on here.

Say it now and say it right.

The new one looks loads better, the eyes don't look so deranged anymore! You're going in the right direction (ie. improving) for sure.

Opinions are like arseholes. Everyone's got one and they all stink.
