A bike squad can carry 1 special weapon. Can the biker carrying the special weapon fire both it's twin-linked bolters from the bike as well as fire his special weapon? Can the squad charge after that? (Let's say the special weapon was a plasma gun)

An attack bike can carry either a heavybolter or a multimelta. Can the biker fire its heavy weapon on the move and the twin-linked bolters from the bike as well? Can he charge after that?

Bikes can fire rapid fire weapons and still charge. This is right in the rulebook. To my recollection they do NOT have a special rule allowing them to fire more than one weapon, so the guy with the plasma has to choose to either fire it OR the bolters.

Attack bikes, again IIRC, DO have a special rule allowing them to shoot both the heavy and the bolters. I am 100% certain that the rulebook clearly states they can move and fire the heavy weapon.

I believe so, yes. Check the rulebook. I'm fairly certain it's explicitly stated.

Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

the plasma gun is not bike mounted. If you fire it, you can't charge.

Ok I am talking about 2 kinds of bikes here..

A regular space marine bike with a plasma gun. If they fire their plasma gun, can the model/squad charge?

ALSO

A space marine attack bike (2 wound model) with a mounted heavy weapon (Multi-Melta, or Heavy Bolter). If they fire the heavy weapon, can the model/squad charge?

According to the rules under bikes, each bike in a unit may fire one weapon for each rider on a bike. Thus an attack bike could fire two weapons. It goes on to say blah, blah, blah bikes count as stationary for purposes of firing and if firing rapid fire or heavy weapons, the unit can still charge.

The Bike's ability to charge after shooting isn't linked to the weapon being bike mounted. Being bike mounted only affects if they fire as stationary with the rapid fire weapon. Any bike may fire as many weapons as it has riders, and retains its ablity to charge after firing heavy or rapid fire weapons.

You just contradicted yourself. You're saying that only bike mounted weapons count as stationary when firing, but a rider can fire a rapid fire weapon and still charge even though he does not count as stationary. This is an easy issue. The actual marine does not count as stationary when firing, say, a plasma gun. Thus if he fires the plasma he cannot charge because he does not count as stationary.

It used to be that way in 3rd ed, but unfortunately, the bike rules are written just loose enough that you can claim any rapid fire weapon, not just the bike-mounted one. It just says that bikes can shoot rapid fire or heavy weapons and still charge, no requirement for them to be mounted. But only mounted weapons retain their 24" range after moving. Weird..........

No I didn't, they are two seprate rules. A biker can fire a bike mounted rapid fire weapon as if they were stationary and my charge after firing any rapid fire weapon.
