Hi folks

Massively inspired by Anodyr from TheGreatCrusade (thanks man but damn you for making me starting a new project again ), I started work on an IA Rough Riders Platoon, again for Apocalypse.
I think about making a special datasheet for fielding them.

Ok, enough blabla for now, here's the first model, the commander.
Actually the HQ always is the first thing I build for every new army

The sculpting is not as good as I would like it to be, but only practice makes perfect

Hope you like him and the idea, I would really appreciate comments, new ideas and critism

These are really cool. Very simple conversions with really great results. The GS work you are doing is in all the right places and really adds a lot of character.

You've also got me thinking more about my future projects x.x...And that's just dangerous...I won't go too in depth here...but let's just say you've given me more hope to seeing this idea in my head a reality ^_-.

Now, Let's see em painted!

Man, those are great. The subtle additions of a few techbitz and the muzzle armor really make them less fantasy in a very effective manner. The epaulets on the commander are nicely sculpted too, especially considering the bulky armor beneath them.

Can you post a closer pic of what you did for the hunting lances?

I've bought a few of the pistolier heads to try out as conversion bitz with IG. Now that I look at your conversions, I'm thinking that using the torsos/arms/heads with Cadian legs for foot troops, and the Cadian torsos and arms with Pistolier heads/legs/horses on the cavalry might be the way to go. Conscripts and Rough Riders, with a few HW platoons and (steampunked) Sentinels would look great. And throwing in Outrider bitz for vets (and their variant weapons to use as grenade launchers, plasma etc.) will add some great variety.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

Great start. I really like the feel of the models.
Be sure to take every opportunity to "tech up" the models. And perhaps to consider adding a few gothic touches here and there.

Arrgh! Great job, but one thing!!!

CUT THE "GRASS"!!!!! The horse's legs don't really require them to stand properly, and it looks SO much better if the legs are free!

Like I said though, aside from that, great job!!

I think the only part I'm not sold on is the metal leggings. I think you should do it the same as their carapace armor in black with highlights. The leggings in metal SCREAM "I'm Fantasy!". I think in black it might tone this down a bit.

Overall though, they're definitely an awesome looking group.
