comming into a dilemena here. i plan on making my own GUO for the up and comming demons book, and i know its not gonna be able to fit on a 50MM base. in 40k this is not an issue, cuz i would just bust out a CD, or a vinyl record, or if need be, cut a 14 inch diameter piece of plywood, but i dont really see things in fantasy getting that large. even if i wasnt making my own, how would i run say the FW GUO? a 50x50mm base would bare cover his crack.
im planning on gluing four 50mm bases together to make a giant 100x100 for my sculpted GUO. any problems with this?

If you really need the room you could use two chariot bases.

In WHFB you are bound by the common base size for the model. In the case of the GUO it must be mounted on a 50mm base as per the rules regarding base sizes in BRB.

In other words, he could ride a 50mm base underneath one mother of a rock / pile of crap / mound of nurglings / etc ... Though I'd still let you use a custom 100x100 base but treating it as a 50x50 for purposes of counting rank bonus within a unit. Otherwise bigger base doesn't give you too many benefits, beyond larger charge / sight arc. - Salvage EDIT -- No, I'm actually pretty busy at work today

thanks for the laugh salvage. just to be clear to the rest of the community, im not looking for a larger base to get any form of extra bonus, its just impractical to mount a King Tubs on a 50mm base. some people will whine "but they make a GD of nurgtle, and he goes on a 50mm base" well those people can keep with stock models and have a nice day, ill be making my fatty large and in charge.

Just keep a spare 50mm base with "Objects on table are smaller than they appear" painted on it, and toss it down whenever your big fatty gets into HtH.

He's got a mind like a steel trap. By which I mean it can only hold one idea at a time;
it latches on to the first idea to come along, good or bad; and it takes strenuous effort with a crowbar to make it let go.

If you're going to use him in tournaments, I'd do what Salvage or Fellblade suggested and either work out a way to make him fit, or have a swappable base. An alternative if you're playing with friends is to just house rule him to have a smaller Terror radius. That's really the only advantage to the bigger base. Shrink his Terror radius by the radius increase of the bigger base. Or a little more if rounding gives you an even number of inches.

no tourneys for me, simply casual play. for the terror thing i would just measure from the center of the base then.
