I play HE Empire and Dwarfs. My friend plays a 3300pt Khornate Daemonic Legions army. For more context:
3x 16 Bloodletters
2x 5 Flesh hounds
Bela'kor (sp)
1 Exalted Daemon
1 Bloodthirster
1x 8 Bloodcrushers
Any advice on how you would face that? Right from Army comp to in game tactics.

Each unit has a spesific counter fleshhounds will bounce off any ranked units but die to hand gunners/crossbowmen. Letters will die when charged by ranked knight units. Belakor will die to any ranked unit that charges him as will the exaulted demon All three flyers will drop to cannonballs The bloodcrushers will only die when flanked by something decent. So, you need a ranked unit or three. Prefereabally 30 men strong. You need two or three large knight units. You need some crossbow men You need at least 2 preferabally 3 cannons. Dont care what else Advance the ranked units behind the knights so if the thirster comes out to play the ranked guys will get him Charge the knights intot he letters at the first oppertunity. Shoot cannons at big guys and crossbow men at hounds (dont let them flank the ranked units) Try to get something arround the flanks of the crushers at that point lvl you should be able to fit 3 ranked units, 4 knight units, and 3 cannons in easily. Toss in some priests for magic defence and some extra offence as well and your golden O, and remember. bait and flank is your friend. fast cav rock vs this army.

Hellblaster or 2 would be standard fare I would have thought. He'll be coming to you so no worries about the range...
Why not worry too much because in 2 weeks the new rules will be out and the khorne list will be very very different.
It will still run at you but without freny will be much harder to lead around by the nose.

i'd go after the bloodcrushers, and try to outmaneuver them to get some nasty flank charges, and run em' down. with them dead it'll be hard for the foe t make up the point difference.
also use your missile units to kill off those hounds quickly or it will be neigh impossible to set up the flank charges as i said above on the bloodcrushers.
as said int he previous entry use your big bolt throwers and cannons to take down the big guys. other than that you can simply meet the enemy bloodletters in head on charges and they should fall like leaves in the wind

alright....let's look at this again, now that the new rules are out. Anything anyone would change?
Now, we're facing:
-No Belakor (but knowing ,y friend he'll replace him with a daemon prince or something)
-no frenzy (good and bad)
-stat line changes (Flesh hounds are better, Bloodletters are a little better, Bloodcrushers are still scary, but managable (esp. with only 2 wounds/base)
I'm still trying to think how my Elves, in particular, could deal with this. my other armies can be shooty and then hit hard in combat (well the dwarves can at least).

In the new version, I would go with a similar tactic as others have mentioned. Be wary of the the Flesh hounds. If you go with Elfs, a High Born on Dragon with Dragon armor would murder the thirster if he purchased the fire sword thing that gives him +1 S.

The thirster would kill the dragon, the elf would flee combat and get run down.
|
All in all, fact is that Warhammer 40K has never been as balanced as it is now, and codex releases have never been as interesting as they are now (new units and vehicles and tons of new special rules/strategies each release -- not just the same old crap with a few changes in statlines and points costs).

Thirster couldn't kill the dragon if he has the flame sword. Dragon armor immunity extends to the mount.
