The points on your Predator look wrong. 60 points for lascannon sponsons seems way overpriced. I haven't looked at the new DA codex yet though so I could be wrong.

The Army looks solid to me, but how to do you plan on using them in the field? Are you going to combat the squad the tac squads, leaving the heavies behind and trying to rush with the Rhinos or will you fight in 10 man squads? I don't think 4, 5-man squads is a good route to go for trying to assault. I could critique your build better if you give me the context of how you want to play the Army.

I've played mech marines for years and done extremely well with them, but they are one of the toughest armies to play well under 4th Edition because it requires making alot of smart tactical decisions about when you need to move troops and when you need their firepower. If you want any advice, feel free to ask.

Take care,
Mike K.

All 4 squads are full 10 man..its noted in the list above.. base cost 90pts, 75pts for 5 more men.

Yes the TLLC is 60pts in the DA codex.

I plan on using the army in a defensive posture( alot of shooting to weakien assault armys .. or Rhino bolter rush on a weak flank on shooty armys AKA guard or tau.

I would suggest reallocating your AT capabilities. DA Preds are a pretty damn inefficient way of getting AT, but a really cheap way of getting decent anti-horde. The TL LC Dread isn't as bad, but is a TL LC really 20 pts. better than an assault cannon? I don't think so. If you took an autocannon + HBs + SB Pred instead, you'd free up 65 points, which is huge. If you dropped the Dread TL LC as well (the assault cannon is a great weapon IMO, even post-nerf), you could swap all the Tac squad MLs and the two HB Devs for LCs. Breaking it down:

Before:
4 MLs
2 LCs
2 TL LCs
2 HBs

After:
6 LCs
1 autocannon
1 assault cannon
2 HBs

This leaves you much stronger against vehicles and somewhat weaker against hordes. That's okay, though, because now you don't need those overpriced HK missiles and can put those points towards buffing your anti-horde. Drop all the HKs and you're 20 points away from a Whirlwind.

Oh, and I just noticed you have a TL LC Razorback. Again, I have to wonder if a TL LC is 30 pts. more useful than a TL HB. Here, too, it would make sense to reshuffle those points, seeing as how that gets you almost halfway to an MM Land Speeder.

Lastly, if you have points to spare after whatever changes you make, I would give the cheerleader Master (because let's be honest, that's all he is with a PW) an SB. It isn't much, but it's good value for money with his BS, and every bit helps.

LOL!.. cheer leader.. thats funny but true, sadly...
I have hims exclusively for a HTH foil with his command squad and Rites of battle benefit only.

I am personaly one of a different mind set when it comes to ML's vs LC's. I belive missile launchers to be more effective overall due to the mixed ammo types ( ck, fg)

I will look into moving some weapons around carefully... thanx cromis.

I figured that. It's all the more reason to give him the SB, since he'll be spending a lot of turns sitting about waiting to countercharge.

Flexibility is nice, but it often comes at the cost of efficiency. (There are exceptions, like assault cannons and autocannons.) In this case, it leads to you having to pick up the slack elsewhere (TL LCs on the Dread and Pred), and the places that you've chosen to pick up the slack compound the inefficiency by being themselves inefficient.

Against tanks: which is better, 4 krak missile shots, 2 LCs and 2 TL LCs, or 6 LCs, an assault cannon and (against AV <14) an autocannon? Easy choice IMO.

Against hordes: which is better, 4 frag missile shots and 2 HBs or an autocannon, an assault cannon and 2 HBs? Closer, but I'd still call in favour of the latter choice.

In 5th ed, frags become better, it must be said. However, 5th ed also makes glancing hits a whole lot worse and turns SMF from auto-glance to a cover save. Put together, what this means is that the gap between krak missiles and lascannons widens even further.

Basically, what my advice (and that's all it is: if mass MLs work for you, great!) boils down to is this: all vehicle-mounted DA lascannons are overpriced, but vehicle-mounted anti-horde is, well, fairly priced. Therefore, avoid all vehicle-borne lascannons and get your AT needs covered in your squads instead. Compensate for the lack of flexibility by using the saved points to buy more dakka instead of multipurpose dakka (except where multipurpose dakka comes cheap).
