I'm relatively new to the 40k Universe and the army i finally settled on the Orks. I was just wondering if I might nab a few pointers and basic guidelines when it comes to making an Ork list. Any advice, tips, pointers on how to run proper Ork Waaagh! would be gratefully appreciated!

A Shokk Attack Gun will be your best friend, or your worst enemy. That said, you'll laugh incredibly hard, regardless of the results.

A Looted Wagon is pretty bad, but a modest amount of points. That said, it'll make up a lot of points if it manages a Boomgun shot.

Don't ever, ever worry about losing models, whether vehicle or infantry of any sort. Don't worry about it, the Green Tide will wash away all bad feelings.

I don't play Orks, but from what I've read in the new codex and battle reports, it's a good idea to have LOTS of Boyz mobz. I'm not sure if they rely on numbers as much as the IG, though.
