Hey all,

New member here. I've just recently got in to 40K and tabletop miniatures gaming in general. I have some experience with GW's LotR SBG, but I didn't really care for the ruleset (or the minis I suppose - even though I'm a big Tolkien fan). Anyway, I've mostly been a boardgamer (video games as well) and I do have a fair number of board wargames, just not any "true" tabletop miniatures games.

So the army i'm working on right now is, of course, Orks. I have a strange fascination with this race and find myself drawn to them in other Sci-Fi/Fantasy games. My username is an Orc from Tolkien, actually...

So far I have the 4th ed Rulebook (which I actually bought about 2 years ago) the new Ork Codex, an Ork Battleforce, and a Warboss.

Army is coming along well, and I mostly feel like i've gained a lot of experience with regard to painting and putting together GW miniatures. I was really surprised with how awesome the sprues were in the Battleforce box, with lots of options for customizability and unique poses. This is definitely something the LotR SBG did not have going for it.

So far I have 10 Shoota Boyz painted, 3 Warbikerz, and 1 Trukk. The warboss is primed and so are the other 12 Trukk Boyz (I was able to get 22 boyz total out of the box...just needed 2 bases from my LotR bitz). I've got the skin painted on 6 of those boyz at the moment.

I'm not really too sure where i'm going to go with this Army, I won't be a tournament player, so I'm think mostly about theme here. I was thinking about having a "United Clans" with Ghazghkull Thraka at the head. That way I could have all the clans represented, with each clan represented as a unit type i'd associate it with doing best (of course at the end of the day all Orks are pretty good at crushing 'eads).

Of course i'm sure i'll buy some of the other models I think that are cool, like some Killa cans and Deff dreads, but thats further down the line.

All I know is that I need more Boyz and at least one more Trukk, since it's probably the best model ever.

I just can't wait to wage my very own Waaaaagh! on my friends at the local game store.

Great site this is, BTW, learned a lot just lurking these past couple of weeks. Figured I'd join and throw up some pics of my ladz once they're finished (soon!).
