This is my first attempt at playing WHFB, so please go into detail about any changes you'd make.
Noble w/barded steed, lance, dragon armor, shield, BSB, banner of +1d6CR
Archers x10, no upgrades
Swordmasters x7, no upgrades
Swordmasters x7, no upgrades
Dragon Princes x6 w/full command, banner of moving thru difficult terrain, item of squad makes magical attacks

one problem, you have no general. the BSB cannot be your army general, so you either need to drop the BSB or get another character in there some how. ti looks like you are trying for a combination of shooty and combat. in my experience that doesn't work too well. I thing you shioukd drop the dragon princes and go for another unit of archers or a unit of seaguard. also think of a way to get atleast one mage. magic will help you alot.

this army needs some mages if you make it shooty that way you may get curse of arrow attraction (which i haveseen with rbt's take out entire units)

that army could win if you played it right. you said this is your first attempt at fantasy, so i sugest going a little more shooty. drop one unit of sword masters for a unit of archers, and change the spearmen to seaguard. drop the dragon mage, in this army he is just a huge target, and you have to use the lore of fire. I like a choice in my lores. use the points from the dragon on either another mage or more archers. if you still want to use so many sword masters(and i don't blame you, Sword Masters rock) you have to have a plan for keeping them alive until combat. they die very quickly to magic and sooting. take the sigil of asuryan and some dispel scrolls to handle the magic.
