It was Eltharion the Grim, I guess someone at GW did not like him unless he was on a griffin and hated goblins.

Only now do I realize how much I prefer Pete Haines' "misprints" to Gav Thorpe's "brainfarts." :Abadabadoobaddon |

Eltharion is an old character. In the 4th edition book and boxed set he was the goblin-fighter on the griffon. During 6th ed GW came up with the blind swordmaster revamp on his character concept, then for some reason went back to the old version in the new book.

Morally-Flexible Malleus Hearing Whispers
Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.
|
I have his rules in Chronicles 2006
1) He was defeated and blinded by Malekith.
2) On his return was trained by the swordsmasters.
3) Is #2 Swordsmaster, and the highest that typically goes to battle. He is the Swordsmaster HQ, making them Stubborn and they are not 0-1.
4) He is the general but defers to Tyrion.
He doesn't have any magic abilities. Just bonuses. Acrobatic ward save, psychology rules, he can use his sword different ways to get different attack bonuses. Not a magic weapon, nor a great weapon.
------
So what, in the new book he is just some guy that likes killing things.

awww. It's actually a cool piece of fluff. He takes on Malekith who smashes him down with magic, and then the Dark Elves, for lack of a better expression, exucute the High Elves.
Maybe he is going to get blinded again after the new Dark Elf book.
