I'm obviously registered, but this won't go away. It's kinda annoying.

First of all, try clearing your cookies - chances are you were signed in the last time we did a release and it made your settings inconsistent. Then log in again and it should be ok. If that fails, after you are logged in, click on the dakka logo image to go to the dakka home page and let me know if you are still logged in then (it should say logout instead of login). Also, if the cookie clearing does not work then please let me know what operating system, web browser and browser version you are using. Thanks

It doesn't work, still having to log in when I leave and come back to Dakka later. I'm on XP, IE, v6.0

Ahhh I know what the problem is. The bug that is affecting you (I presume) is fixed in my development version and the fix should be going out to the live dakka server this weekend. How often do you experience the problem?

I have to relog in every time I go to Dakka on a new browser window, and occasionally after being off dakka with the same window for a while. Can't say how long it takes for my cookie to be lost, cause that seems like what's happening. Didn't have this issue until I cleared my cookies trying to get rid of the welcome message.

The same problems are happening to me - the welcome message appears, and when going through a proxy (a school one, not a proxy unblocker) I cannot log in. I go to the login screen but when I click on continue, it returns me to the main page as a guest.

I found a potential source for this problem and fixed it. The new code will be going live on dakka this weekend, so on monday clear out your cookies and with luck it should not be a problem anymore.
