I am having trouble with a name for my space marine chapter. they are currently called The Dark Templar.
i have recently found a web site that has Dark Templar pasted all over it. so now i need a new first name for my chapter. here is an extremely rough picture of what my basic colour scheme is. i would like to keep the templar part of my name, but if you can convince me, more power to you. any advice is helpful. thx






i guess you convinced me to make a better visual. hope this helps. ( the only thing wrong with these is that only the top of the hand is supposed to be green.

Put green in the name somewhere; its a color which is often overlooked in naming schemes. Maybe play around with alternate lagnauges as well. For example, Aedes Viridis is green templar in latin.

It wasn't my intention to make fun of the OP if he's sincere. It's just that this whole post seems like a joke. You have the MS Paint Marine, the cliched combination of "Dark" and "Templar" (and true enough, the colour scheme is a mix of the DA and BT schemes!), the fact that he's changing the chapter name because he "recently found a web site that has Dark Templar pasted all over it" (??). . . . I don't believe this can be genuine.

What about the Green Knights? It's a nice reference to medieval legends, eh?

being a new poster makes me think he's sincere and right about the age GW likes to recruit. Not busting on you for taking the shot, cause oh it was necessary, but hopefully the Painter helps him throughout the hobby.

off Pariah's note, i like the idea. Hunter could probably do some conversion work with some fantasy helms on standard marines to escentuate the medieval reference. Heck, i might make a squad of Ultras like that.

name them "they who shall not be named" or how about "the riddlers" and on their heraldry just paint a big question mark (?)

green knights sounds cool. I think it was sir Gawain that had to fight the green knight in the stories. He was like some invincible force, perfect for space marines.

Do you want a name first, or do you have a "character" for
your army in mind? That might help.

jedi76, what? The Green Knight was not "some invisible force." He was an actual knight. Who was green. And yes, it was Sir Gawain who "fought" him--as the title of the poem tells you!

He is a force, though, from what I remember. Maybe not
invisible, but certainly there was more going on with the
Green Knight than a painted suit of armor.
