Painting Within the Lines

Hey Malfred, been playing PoM for a little while, and I really like your article! Being new to the Forum, I don't want to presume to edit it directly, but here are a few observations you might want to consider adding.
1. The Avatar is a game breaking unit. I know it seems like a foregone conclusion that a 147 point beat-stick like this will be powerful, but it is also deceptively subtle, after a fashion. Its Gaze of Menoth power is one that I've discovered few people know how to deal with. It allows the player to hold or turn the flank of the opposition, pulling them all out of whack while the other beat-sticks go in for the kill. Being big and shiny, it naturally draws big enemies like flies, and then, too late, they realize that a VERY angry god-possessed warjack is there to wreck their stuffnjunk, and they cannot get away! I recently won a steamroller event where the Avatar was my lynchpin.
2. Reznik... Ol' Headsman Rez is a tricky 'caster to use effectively, but he can be amazingly aggressive and surprise the shyte out of an enemy that is used to the normal Monolithic sacrifice Menite force. His abilities are all geared towards head-hunting, in my opinion, and if the wind blows the right way, he can assassinate on turn 2. I usually field him with 2 Revengers and a Reckoner as my core 350. (348, I believe). This gives him some chargey 'jacks to work his magic on, and 2 arc nodes to use with "Brand of Heresy", which is his most potent spell. Then, when you have the enemy all confundified wondering which 'Jack is going to sink in the charge, move in, pop his feat, and cast "Witch Hammer". NOW the enemy can't cast, order, or allocate, while Reznik has a bunch of spells to give his 'Jacks rocket power. (Zealots Rage, Perdition). In case that isn't enough, Reznik HIMSELF is the best way to take out an enemy caster. combo off Brand, Hate Monger, and even Purgation to make him a S+P 17, 4 hit and damage dice rolling, 10" chargeing monster.
There IS a down side, however. His focus is not the best, and he does not have any good buffing upkeep spells, or any spells that do any good for Units. This makes him a bit vulnerable in an attrition battle. At the 500 level, I add in the choir (I also believe this unit is near-Autoinclude), A seneschal, a redeemer, and 3 wracks. This puts the list at exactly 500, and gives him some more options. The seneschal allows him to have another individual unit to spell, but doesn't require focus. (I find putting Zealot's rage on him at the beginning makes the enemy very nervous... The redeemer, combined with the choir, and with Brand is truly awesome. (Well, as awesome as that pesky inaccurate rule will let it be.) This long-range punch can force the enemy to go where you want them, and in range of your chargey stuff. I guess you could also take a Paladin, instead of the Seneschal, but I don't think Reznik should have any units that cannot deliver the maximum Butt-whup at this level. The paladin is a bit more resilient, but just cant hit like the Seneschal.
For 750, Add the Avatar. Nuff said. Also, a reclaimer might be useful, or even a Vassal (very annoying when paired w/ said Avatar). At this point, you also want to probably add in a unit of something. Exemplars to capitalize on the Aggressive feel of the army, with maybe Gravus to boost with killin' spells.
Just keep in mind the core factors above, and Reznik can pull off some surprising things.
More later...
