Many people suggest me to have icons in my army but I am not sure what the best unit should have icons with it. Any suggestions?

That is true, but i dont think i will be fielding them because of S&P... Here are the units I will be considered to be fielding though:
screamers
heralds
Daemon prince
daemonettes
horrors
fiends
seekers
flamers
hounds...

Seems to me that the best Icon bearing choice is an IC herald, probably slaaneshi (for pavane) or Tzeentchian (for sniping). Take 2 and put one in each half and charge them with staying far enough from foes not to be targetted.

All in all, fact is that Warhammer 40K has never been as balanced as it is now, and codex releases have never been as interesting as they are now (new units and vehicles and tons of new special rules/strategies each release -- not just the same old crap with a few changes in statlines and points costs).

i think i will do that - but isn't it bad to have a whole bunch of units clustered together? has anyone had success with either DS normally or just drop with icon?

plaguebearers all the way...

S & P + run = plenty fast enough for what you need them to do.

step 1 - land

step 2 - get to an objective

step 3 - take cover

step 4 - profit

Nonsense, plaguebearers don't do anything but hold the Icon, and they are more shootable than an IC. Sniper HoT all the way.

I thin the herald of Tzeentch on a chariot is excellent choice for your icons. They move like jetbikes and have have five wounds plus (I believe but could be wrong) a 4+ invulnerable save.

Plaguebearers are great Icon monkeys. I go with the lucky 7 with Icon, relatively cheap for a unit that can hold an objective like a brick wall, small enough to lessen scatter mishaps, and can tie up an elite CC unit well (namely Harlies and Banshees who have a tough time getting through T5, and again in 5th with rending nerf, even more so).

Also, if the 5th edition rumors are true, IC's are losing some of their protection, so that adds a bit more favor, in my mind, to Plaguebearers.

Heralds of Tz on a chariot is solid for the 5 wounds and 4+ inv, but with a toughness of 4, a good volley of double tap can really hurt them. Of course, they also have the bonus of being able to turbo 24".

Never attribute to malice which can rightly be explained by stupidity.

I wanna be sure to clarify that I'm not saying tzeentch ICs are bad units, I just think plaguebearers are no brainers as a combination of scoring unit and icon caddy.

I just had to refute the "don't do anything" comment.
