What's the best way to measure out small amounts of paint from pots like Citadels? Reaper Master/Vallejo bottles are great because you can just squeeze out a few drops as needed, but I have a hard time getting out a small amount of other paints without being wasteful. I've tried an eyedropper, but it doesn't squeeze out all the paint, so you waste a bunch as it dries inside the dropper. I'm sure there's some obvious solution I haven't thought of...

I use citadel paints too.. What I do is shake them up before use and only take from whats on the inside of the lip thing, just dabbing my brush as needed. I sometimes get a little more than I need, but not a whole lot.

Stay Alert! Trust no one! Keep your laser handy!!

HAPPINESS IS MANDATORY

If I have to get paint out of a Citadel pot for mixing or whatever, I use a toothpick or a popsicle stick.

if i need to take some paint out of the pot for mixin' or washes, i just use the back end of my brush...dip the back end in the lid, and then tap it onto my pallette...makes for good ratios, as i get the same amount of paint on the end each time(more or less)...

the majority of my work is with done with paint straight from the pot, and then dip the tip of the brush in a spot of water and smooth it out on my thumb...

cheers

I use the scoop end of GW's greenstuff tool works great and wipes clean. Use disposable pipettes for inks though.

You're thinking about it all wrong... See, the paint is going to dry out before you use it all, so really, you're not wasting any with an eyedropper! You win!

Seriously though, I pretty much don't mix pot paints at this point. If mixing is called for, I use Vallejo dropper bottles. I still use plenty of GW paints, I just use them unmixed.

I just use the brush to slap some on the palette, or use it right out of the pot. I'll wash the brush off if I load it up too much transferring paint. I'm sure that's a waste, but come on. Paint's not that expensive.

I use an old plastic syringe. It is about 1 CC I think. Between 1/4" and 1/2" OD. PITA in that I have to rinse it out with fresh water after every use, but I find that if I keep several of them handy, I just throw the used ones into some old paint-rinse water, whatever happens to be handy. Make sure it floods to keep it wet. Clean it when I need it again, do a bunch at once.

I use the brush I'm working with- remeove said paint from the lid of the pot (Citadel paints) and after washing the brush get the next colour to mix, add some water as needed and mix.

As I usually do 1:1 or 1:4 ratios it usually is pretty easy to repeat if I'm mixing ala the flesh on my lizardmen...
