Just picked up the program, put this together after a few hours fiddling with it. Just wanted to get some feedback for future reference!

Very cool idea. The only issue I have here is that there's a huge light source in your background, and the near side of the planet is dark, but the ships appear to be lit from the foreground.

Photoshop is fun.

Huh, I didn't even think about that... Good idea, I'll have to look into it. I've only had it two days now, so I'm sure there is much more to learn. I'll keep it in mind for the next one.

Here's another... I still haven't done anything with the lighting, but I've progressed a little with my cut out skills...

Torpedos are on my list of things to do next... as is lighting and muzzle flashes. I want to try and get away from only having straight lasers, but I'm not really sure what I want yet. Some sort of plasma-barrage thingy. Hmmm....

I like it except for the weapon effects, they look MSPainted in compared to the rest. It's a good start for sure.
