I posted a while back about how I was thinking of starting, and so I finally have. I've grabbed some models that I like, and am just wondering what else I could add to the following:

Kreoss
Avatar
Devout
Eirys
Vilmon
Paladin of the Wall
6 Exemplar Errant

This comes out to about 450. I know I need a full choir, and I'd like to add an Exemplar Seneschal if I have the points for it, otherwise I'll probably toss in another Paladin of the Wall.

What are everyone's opinions of the Exemplar Errant? In my opinion they hit just about as hard as the Exemplar Knights, but have the extra ranged option. Granted they don't get stronger as they die, but Bond of Life has its uses.

The Avatar isn't being dropped because I think the model is so frickin' cool, but any other changes that would be good?

You can fit both the choir and the Exemplar Seneshal and
add in a Wrack for 496-ish points.

Drop the paladin and add a full unit of zealots, you need more infantry. You have too many solos for 500, the avatar is a pretty big point sink for 500 but I know how much you like it Brian so I guess you should keep it.

Errants don't hit as hard as KE and with such low rat the ranged option isn't very useful. Bond of brotherhood is one of the things that makes them good. If you see one KEE you can just ignore it, if you see one KE you need to worry about it because it's stronger than a paladin.

After several games under my belt I think you're right, I may go with examplar over errant for smaller games. The zealots I don't know about, so many people use them but I guess there's a reason for it.

In the end, I was thinking off dropping Kreos for Epic Kreoss and having a big knightly order running around. I think I'd have more fun with that than with trying to mess around with the stupid drop and pop thing Kreoss has.

Something like:

Epic Kreoss
Harbinger
Exemplar
Seneschal
Exemplar
Errant
Vilmon
Paladin
Paladin
Avatar
Devout
Eirys
Corvulo
Choir

Something along those lines, dropping the Harbinger for non-multicaster lists.

I don't know how much a unit of Exemplar are, but in my head all that comes to roughly 1000 points, and if not then I may add a Castigator and Zealots. Reading tactics articles has Epic Kreoss using Sacrosanct on Zealots to make the enemy pay hard for destroying them, and I think I like that idea.

I know I told you this on wednesday but nobody plays 1000 points.

Someone will, sometime. I don't mind waiting for that one occasional good game filled with hours of strategy and challenges. Remember, I'm the guy that likes 1v1 apocalypse games of 10,000 points or more in 40k! There's bound to be others like me

I borrowed a Seneschal and a second Paladin for a 500 point game versus Skorne today and it worked out quite well! Using Kreoss's feat before a mass charge is good practice for using Epic Kreoss, which does essentially the same thing but adds attacks.
