As a forum jockey I have to say that the best part of forums as a whole are the battle reports forums and the painting and modelling reports forums. These forums are the most interesting and provide the rich combination of idea's and experiences into a single format. I get the best feel for the game systems from this medium. Am I alone in this feeling?

From what I've read/seen I'd like to get involved but feel like dakka isn't giving these guys a fair go.

Now I've seen the PP products Warmachine and Hordes take off in the gaming scene at the LFGS as well as at tourneys (Where the PP attendees have steadily risen towards equaling the GW players) and also in peoples many posts on this forum outside of this individual section.

It's a shame that all of the battle reports are lost in the general mix in this section and probably causes people not to bother so much.

I noticed a few battle reports making their way into the articles section and have really enjoyed reading up on those.

I'd really like to read more!

I like dakka as a site to meet all my needs but may have to look elsewhere for this. Does anyone have any suggestions purely for nice battle reports and discussion?

Even on the PP boards, the Battle Reports section gets
activity that's just a little higher than the fan fiction stuff
(yeah, I know). Since the focus of these boards are GW
games, I'm still okay with Warmachine Hordes holding a
single forum. Places where the stuff can mix include the
painting, modeling, news and discussion sections, but it
might be a mistake to make Battle Reports a separate
forum in and of itself.

Look at the Fantasy Battle Reports on this site. There are
maybe 40 odd reports posted.

I don't think Battle Reports will get lost in the mix here.
And anyway, if you write a good one I can always just
convert it into an article and they'll exist forever (which
in terms of the Internet, probably equals 5 years) on
the Dakka Dakka server.

What am I looking for?

1. Pictures with distinguishable models
2. Lists
3. Consistent narrative (not necessarily story)
4. Thoughts on strategies and approaches

Number one is because the silver horde simply doesn't
photograph well.

Bonuses

1. Humor
2. Background (story!)
3. Fully painted ftw! (yeah, a man can dream)

And remember, the way to get more battle reports is to
make more battle reports.

Thats a great post Malfred cheers.

That is great general advice for battle reports. Is it already stickied somewhere?

Pictures really do make for a much better report.
I need to get a camera.
