Lord on cold one

The cold ones look to be comletely different kits so either they are 2 plastic versions or a metal for the characters (which I thought GW was getting away from)

Cold ones look pretty much the same to me. Different heads and slight variation on the limbs. Could easily be plastic models. Now, the fact that they're apparently separate sprues (than Cold One Knights) is the interesting part.

So the Cold Ones solution was "Cover the ugly bits?"

I can live with that.

Cold-ones much, much nicer than previous versions. The Elves though - pretty generic if you ask me. Best combination would be new mounts + old riders imho.

Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

I can feel another army coming on ....

I have to agree that the sorceress looks kind of dumpy.

The mounts look better than the rider. Still, the pictures aren't clear, and the paint job on the Cold Ones isn't very good... And I hated the old riders. The concept was good, the execution was rather disappointing.

As with so many of their miniatures...

I'm guessing armour plates called for some redesign.

Umm.. sorry to kill it but you guys didn't notice that that is a self made model and not actually the model they are useing? Check the bottom left corner, that thing is at least twice as big as the elder on the jetbike.

or, you know, a 3-up...

Most gw minis begin as a three up (three times the size) and are scaled down for molding/production. That's the 3-up.

if they made say seven new cold ones (one lord, one sorceress and 5 plastic knight ones) then that could just be the coolest one, one of the knight ones.

either way.

want.

Forgeworld should get into the cold one business.

Regular CoKs get cool lizards. Heroes get lizards with extra (stupid) armor. So you can tell they are heroes, because they aren't afraid of what people will say about the ugly trappings they drape across their mounts.

Or maybe we'll get lucky and heroes can take barding for their Cold Ones.

He's got a mind like a steel trap. By which I mean it can only hold one idea at a time;
it latches on to the first idea to come along, good or bad; and it takes strenuous effort with a crowbar to make it let go.

Damn those Cold one Riders look bored!
And the armor plating is a downer for me. But that's good, I was afraid I could be tempted too much by the new dark elf models.

QFT. And why the hell is that sorceress wearing armor, much less clothes at all?

To Fell -- Wow, great post, loads of models I hadn't seen. The COK's dinos do look much better (even with the blur), and the hydra I will withhold the hatestick from for the moment. I actually like it a bit, just seems gangly and with too high a center of gravity for me (and the handlers a bit too Dark Eldar-ish). And I note that there's the sorceress swirling about on her magic-y "I'm important, thus flying!" stuff
