Someone needs to walk me slowly through the reasoning behind the recent WE FAQ from GW, I mean seriously did the little welves need to be powered up to compensate for their obvious weakness in .... oh wait they thrive in all phases, my mistake. The real issue I have is with two things

1) Treeman being able to stand and shoot IN ANY DIRECTION!!!! This is already an attack that has no draw backs and now becomes even more potent? Treemen don't need the help thanks

2) Unlimited range treesinging?????? This spell is already overly effective, now it can damage things clear across the table! WTF

Standing and shooting with a Treeman is not really a big deal. How many things are going to charge a treeman that can’t handle some S4 hits?

The other one has always been that way. Going into the woods vs. WE = dangerous. Kill the mages. Just like when you’re playing against any other elven army. Characters are expensive, and elf mages are fragile.

The only broken rulings in the thing are that magic bows don’t deliver magic hits (truly a WTF moment), and the initial ruling that the Moonstone could be used in either player’s turn. That was broken as hell, but thankfully they fixed it.

Fast cav can shoot in any direction but even they cant stand and shoot to the flank or rear.

But that's a rule in the RB for a type of unit. The Treeman has to have a special ability to allow for his root attack and that special ability allowed him to shoot 360 degrees even though he's on a monster base. Frankly, I think it was just a clarification but the rule was already there.
